View Full Version : General Event and Hotel Info

Date: Sunday, August 14, 2005

Gates will open at 8:30am. Tech for cars racing will start immediately. We will also imediately start parking the cars in the show field.

First car down the strip will be at 10am. Eliminations will start at 1pm.

We will collect the car show votes by 2:30pm to tally them.

Eliminations and car show vote counting shoudl be completed by 4pm. At 4pm will we start handing out trophies and awards.

Gate fees are $25 to participate in either drag racing competition or the car show. You can only enter one or the other this year(first year, trying to keep it simple). Spectators are $10 each.

General Ground Rules:
No Alchohol Permitted
No open fires or bbq's allowed
Please maintain 5mph in the pits(those who have been there before can explain how packed the pits get, so this is important)
Only GM F-Body platform vehicles allowed to participate.
All participants under the age of 18 must have a signed parental release form. If you need a parental permission slip sent to you you can call island dragways office at (908) 637-6060 during the week

it is about 8miles from the track.
just call the hotel and tell them you are with Island Dragway. the discounted rooms are $95, that is $24 cheaper than their normal rate.
they have room for up to 200 people. if they run out of rooms let me know and i will talk to other hotels in the area.

hey man i know its not an fbody but if i bring the Chevelle up will anyone be offended? I wont show or race it, but just wouldnt mind bringing the car for everyone to see. Thanks man. Later

bring it!!!! it is a cool car. you will have to park it with all the other non-f-bodies, but it is still a cool ride.

ummm...nah i think ill just bring my broke ass Z28. I would rather not leave that car in a parkinglot where some regular old ******* can back into it and run away. Thanks though.

hey whats up everyone, i used go to this site but lost contact of it. anyway i just would like to join you guys in this meet you are having at island dragway. sounds cool, cause i never been to a fbody meet but hope you guys dont mind the thirdgen style. i dont know about putting it in the car show, not to sure if its good enough, it won a trophy in my home town and i belong to a club there. i live in bayonne nj and just wanted to know how long of a trip is it up there. i want to make it. its august 14th right? and what town is it in? thanks...true2chevey admin gave me some info. thanks. :)

Don't worry, several people here (including both admins) are big thirdgen fans.

Your car looks more than good enough to park on the show field :)

whenever you want. just remeber, the longer a car sits in teh show field the longer it will have to collect votes. :)
