For those of you who know, I have been worrying about a knocking sound that the 327 in the Chevelle has been making, and had not gone away. Once the sound started, i would BARELY run it, but no matter what it knocked. With the little time that I have had recently I decided to use that to finish up sme other things on the car first. Thinking the worst me and my buddy Brian started tearing into it yesterday. Come to find out the valve lash was WAY off. It was adjusted once, but I dont know what happened. Other than that, a real good tune on the carb and adjustment of the timing and the thing is really running excellent! Just hoping that the lifters werent too tight and started messing up the cam, but no "glitter" in the oil was found. Only if it were nice out I could have taken it out and done wasted some BFG's. Now onto fixing the rear (the pinion angle is too high at 2* up) instead of around 4* down. Thats just an adjustment of the control arms. Lastly the stock converter will be out as soon as possible, however will most likely not be taken out until after the Good Guys show out in Hershey, PA. Soon enough it will be out and and up to some meets. Take it easy.
