They're for sale quite a bit on the ls1 boards.

BigAls87Z28 07-15-2010 07:18 PM

Eh, searching that god forsaken classifieds on ls1tech is a nightmare.
I saw that one guy had an SS3600 for 375 shipped, but missed it by about a week. Been waiting ever since....

sweetbmxrider 07-15-2010 07:25 PM

why not get a new one speced to your car?

Yeah I don't like their new set up.

Just know you're taking a risk by buying a used converter, a ton of people do it all the time but it "can" turn into a real nightmare.

BigAls87Z28 07-17-2010 10:07 PM

Used parts are always a gamble.

BigAls87Z28 07-18-2010 12:32 PM

Are LS1 intake gaskets reuseable? Gunna pop the top off and drop in the Corvette valley pan, just wanted to know if I need to pick up set from work. Might do it anyway.

NastyEllEssWon 07-18-2010 12:43 PM

yes they are

BigAls87Z28 07-18-2010 02:17 PM

alright, update:

1) LS6 valley pan does not fit, and I will need to cut off some meaningless boss that is cast into the block. Oh well, minor set back.
2) motor mounts are out, and Ill cut and drill the rivets off. Anyone have any link to what size bit, or what kind of bit to use?

BigAls87Z28 07-18-2010 02:57 PM

I want to get the engine and trans in the car by Friday. That means the 305 motor mount needs to come out, and the both new brackets need to go on the K, as well as installing the new poly mounts for the engine.
It also means finding a TC...soon

BigAls87Z28 07-18-2010 07:01 PM

Frosty 07-18-2010 07:45 PM

Speed cost money which you're well aware of.

BigAls87Z28 07-18-2010 10:38 PM

Sure does...sure does.

BigAls87Z28 07-31-2010 01:29 PM

Ok i was wondering if anyone has done or heard about people switching to Dex 6 fluid? its twice the price but its a better fluid. Anyone?

BigAls87Z28 08-01-2010 11:13 PM

And I went with Dex 6. Little search on line and some good reviews popped up.

BigAls87Z28 08-04-2010 12:55 PM
