Still no power here. I see the trees getting cleared from the lines, so that's some kind of progress. My house service wires are still FUBAR, though. Hope they get things sorted soon. I'll be pretty happy when I can put my generator away.
|
No power yet.
|
I ran some quick numbers from JCP&L's website, and about 75% of NJ is still without power
its crazy |

Guess who works in said commercial zone. Tonight I get to siphon gas out of the Nova so I can drive to an all day meeting that could not be moved. |
My work still is out ..... so we improvised.
This unit is up front on the other side of the building... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...F271A66AFB.jpg its supposed to be backup for our servers. So ran some "power lines" out towards the office ... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...F20B543DAD.jpg to this first distribution block ... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...F1F383412E.jpg then to another distribution center here... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...F15BCC0A8B.jpg Also got some lights working off it, so now they can do all the important stuff they do. PSE&G said today "7-10" days. ick ... |
No power but stole the battery from my camaro and the jag to power my rigged up phone charger inside. Life without power blows.
|
Well, it was only a matter of time. Reports are starting to pop up of generators being stolen in the night, and gas tanks being siphoned.
Edit: Cure for the generator is: shut it down and lock it in the garage for the night. To protect the trucks parked outside, I jammed them gas cap to gascap, about 2 inches apart. Not ideal, but the best I can do on short notice. |

I had it chained up in the back yard. Now it's in the garage.
|
So at work... we had about 75 tow ins... we sent a crew to baltimore to get generators over night... cables galore.
|
fios for all who have it just need to plug your fios unit in and pull the green tiped wire in the battery unit then put it back and youll be good if you got a generator

Ahh, ok. Quick tip to make sure it's ready to go next time: Drain all the gas out of it, including the carburetor and change the oil. I do this every time I'm finished using my generator, and when I need it, dump gas in and one pull start.

Adam/kirk are alive, they always wanted an indoor swimming pool anyways

No power or anything, still tons of trees down/roads closed back home. At work again today (only went Wed and today). Had to go to Phillipsburg to get gas last night, and lots of people I know went to Easton/Stroudsburg.
Really want to go check out the shorehouse for myself with dad tomorrow but not sure what the gas situation is down there. Would love to take the ski out to explore the area and scope it out too. LBI must be worse than everyone says because you can't even leave/arrive by boat or you'll be accosted by the police. |
