Yeah I thought it was medium quasar blue.

MTM/BGC can look blue depending on lighting.

Same car/color but light and camera settings mess it up.

I agree that looks like MQB though. The lighting has to be "just so" to get no green with MTM.

It looks a lot like this hood I have sitting in my garage...this is not a SLP hood

this is the add on craigslist, spoke to the guy like I said, he stated "it came off a wreck 97' SS"

Yeah, that's MQB.

Well I just ordered black mirror "CAMARO" letters and black mirror Z28 badges from emblempros. The black mirror should look pretty hot on a freshly painted metallic silver car. I choose to leave out the lettering on the badges.

I've purchased from them a while back. I have the stainless ram air grills and stainless Trans Am lettering for the side of the car. Both look just as good as when I first got them many years ago.

sweetbmxrider 09-10-2012 06:42 PM

The camaro on the emblems doesn't look good, glad you didn't go with that.

bigz28man 09-12-2012 10:19 AM

Well the new trans is up and in, small problem arose lastnight when we fired it up. It was surging lastnight. It had always ideled at 800, lastnight night it was at 1000 and surge up to 1300. The only thing i did while the car was up in the air was steam wash the underbody....made sure NOT to near opti. So what gives?

You made sure to get near the opti?

bigz28man 09-12-2012 10:28 AM

Wow typo let me fix that LOL

so here what was tested at 2 in the morning vacuum lines seem good, no codes came up but I'm thinking the knock sensor may have went, its the original one. Also need to check 1,2,4 plugs. Took a temp reading of the headers lastnight 3,5,6,7,8 where all about 570* , 1,2,4 were at about 390*. pulled the valve covers off, all rockers and springs looked good.

sweetbmxrider 09-12-2012 01:54 PM

I'd disconnect the battery, reset the computer and let it relearn. Could be just something stupid or it could be the cold weather its trying to get used to. Start simple like you are doing then go further.

here they are boys 97' Z28 and 02' SS

madness410 09-13-2012 04:05 PM

sweet u did get the ss...how much did you buy it for if you dont mind me asking? miles, mods, etc too

bigz28man 09-13-2012 04:20 PM

well to be honest, my soon to be wife surprised me with it. I was going to pass it up but she really wanted me to have this car. It has 126,000 on it... I know its high but hey new motors change all of that. she paid just under 7K for it. The car is pretty much bone stock. I have yet to even speak really with its previous owner. right now its runs better then my 97'. which all came down to an exhaust leak on the driver side causing the the O2 sensor to dump 20% more fuel into the mix. So after it gets back from paint it gets new header gaskets, new spark plugs and Im putting new O2 sensors in it. I'm done screwing with it. That F'er will be running right after that.

madness410 09-13-2012 04:25 PM

haha sounds like a keeper if shes buying you camaros as surprise presents. good luck with all of it

sweetbmxrider 09-14-2012 07:35 AM

That's pretty awesome! If that exhaust is just 1 pipe out the left, I think its an slp exhaust and might be worth a little something to someone.

Spoke with Rodger at emblempros, here are what the new badges will look like but in mirror black

Anti_Rice_Guy 09-17-2012 07:50 AM

It's not just an appearance project so that doesn't make much sense, but I moved it to member projects.

bigz28man 09-17-2012 10:27 AM

thanks man

bigz28man 09-17-2012 08:42 PM
