yea on the way back from island kasey decides to put us 45 minutes outta our way and give me the scenic tour of rt 280, the eisenhower parkway, totowa, and paterson  and in the process sum dumb ass in a navigator or some damn thing almost freakin t-bones me! im like 20 feet infront of the person, about to go infront of them and the dumbass decides to pull out! needless to say im not in the as good of a mood as i was earlier....

project89 03-31-2006 11:39 PM

AS for the topic of tools. ive spent years getting my tools to what i have now, and i still could use a ton more. Almost all the basic hand tools are craftsman tools, and then various assorted specialty tools, such as steering wheel puller, power steering pulley remover/installer, line wrenches, rubber mallets, fuel line removers, hammers(inc. a BFH), etc. I bought the engine hoist obviously since i move engines around a lot, and floor jacks and jack stands are also a nessecity. Then of course you need the timing light, sawzall, grinder, and heat gun. Now if you get into larger items, im getting my air compressor once i run a 220v line, and i already bought my 2 post 9000lb lift which ill put up once the garage is cleaned out a little more(after englishtown swap meet). So all in all, theres a lot of crap youd need if you want to be prepared for anything while working on a car.
BUT to pull the LS1 motor, i only used a small assortment of sockets and a few rachets, a couple of screw drivers, and a not-so-big hammer. so thats shows you can do the biggest of jobs with not so many tools, and the best place to start is with a decent assortment of sockets, deep and shallow size, sae and metric.

turbo96z28 04-01-2006 01:25 AM

why didn't you pull the engine out the top Paul????

turbo96z28 04-01-2006 01:41 AM

it's amazing what nice weekend weather does to this thread.

anyway, went to see Slither tonight, hilarious movie with a great tempo that keeps you into it from beginning to end. definetley worth the 9 bucks!!!!!!

g'nite all, i gotta get some sleep.
