Plourde was amazing. Probably the tightest drummer I've ever heard for that style of music. But the guy they've had since he left the band from Rich Kids on LSD isn't bad. I wasn't crazy about their last two albums. But the early stuff is great. Fat Wreck did a limited re-press of DUH on vinyl not long ago and you can still get it on their website.

I love DUH one of my favorites. Like you mentioned their later stuff isn't bad but it isn't the same.. Plourde is probably my second favorite drummer right behind Bonham. I always loved listening to him play. And i might have to pick up that vinyl. What else you listen to?

In that genre I like No Use For A Name, Jawbreaker, Pennywise, Good Riddance, Donuts N' Glory (RIP), a bunch others. I also use to play in a band for 4-5 years that was that west-coast style punk. I don't know if you ever heard of Bigwig, but we use to play with them a lot.

Yeah, originally. I know Tom's from Nutley, but they've gone through so many lineup changes they might be from all over the place now

TheBandit 04-06-2008 09:58 AM

haha.. i dunno i used to listen to punkier stuff when i was a little younger. I used to listen to the casualties and the exploited and stuff like that but i shyed away from that. I still love lagwagon and NOFX and stuff but i like a lot more ska and some hardcore? bands.. they stick core at the end of it now i dont get it. Ive got into folkier stuff like defiance ohio and wildebeest, against me had that sound in there old days
