it does look clean. definitely wet sand though with like 2000 grit. should be real smooth and look great. got a better camera for the install pics? :D

1994lt1 01-21-2009 09:09 PM

Yeah I have a better camera I just wanted to get some quick shots of it. Where could I find 2000 grit? I have only seen 800 at Autozone, but then again it's Autozone... Thanks for the compliments guys.

A paint supply store, napa, maybe even pep boys. maybe even home depot.

sweetbmxrider 01-22-2009 03:28 PM

90FormulaWS6 01-22-2009 05:47 PM

ive gotten 2000grit from advanced

1994lt1 01-22-2009 06:36 PM

Well the panel is done! I sanded it down with 800 grit (rubbed together to decrease grit) and sprayed it with some more black. After that I sprayed it with a couple coats of clear and let it dry. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I will post some pictures later on.

Ok guys here they are. Its hard to get a good judge on the gloss because of the lighting. Due to past requests I used a decent camera this time also.

Hey thanks a lot guys. This took a lot of time and effort. I did end up repainting it a couple of times but I am finally happy with it. Today I will see how it looks on the Maro

BonzoHansen 01-23-2009 09:32 AM

Looks great. The tail panels on those cars look nice in black like that. The emblem is a nice nod back to the old days too.
