i am not a fan of the G6. just a lot of bells and whistles hung around a not so comfortable ride and crappy seats.
it is a car caught in between trying to be luxary and performance without the right mix of parts to be much of either. they are sharp lookin cars and the general concept is good, the finished product just seems to have too many cut corners. for all around driving confort, performance, and all weather road manners a 3series bmw with all wheel drive is an excellant choice. you are looking at teh same basic platform as an m-car without the marketing cost and all teh same engiens are available. you can also take advantage of most of the same bolt ons to increase performance if you choose to go that route. models that are only a few years old can be had for good prices in the mid to high 20'k's and excellant condition models around 30k later tim |
I own a Honda Accord EX v6 but now that I have three kids my next car will be a Charger. Balls and a big back seat for the three car seats.

i test drove a g35 before the camaro. g35=crap. 3 series was a **** load better. for a daily i would at least get something like a bmw or a lexus. something that holds its value so you can dump it easy when need be. its just a better financial decision.

pontiac solstice
cadillac CTS or CTS-v (preferable) jeep commander mercedes M-class land rover my short list. i know the last two are imports, but i'd be buying them used anyway, and most likely from an american car dealership (short explanation of the rationale: the money has already been sent to the foreign country but they were traded in on an american car - that's only half as evil as buying a new import). i would also consider the new mustang, but buy it used, of course. buying a car a year old, used, means that someone else has paid that ungodly first year depreciation for you, and you can usually pick them up for thousands less than a new car. they typically don't have high mileage, either, somewhere in the neighborhood of 12k. |
