I've never been snowboarding before, but I can skateboard. they're kinda similar

enRo 01-05-2006 08:09 PM

I USED to snowboard ... until I drug my face on a slick halfpipe about 75 feet... never ever again... theres a square inch of my cheek that wont grow facial hair, a reason why nobody will never ever see me in a full blown beard lol

thats what i thought, snowboarding was alot harder to pick up then i thought it would be. ive been going for about 8? seasons now. i've been skateboarding for a little more then 10 years. i went out for about 15 minutes last season. i took my at the time girlfriend out (1rst time) and she broke her wrist, drove home and spent the night in the hospital. sucked. have yet to go this year.

Savage_Messiah 01-05-2006 10:31 PM

:stupid: except I skateboarded from say... 4th rade thru the end of 8th grade... faded away once high school hit. My problem with snowboarding is stopping, and also comprehending the fact that you're attached to the board so however you lean or move will directly transfer to it... yea. Not as similar as I thought they'd be

Ian 01-05-2006 11:14 PM

:? how do you stop on a snowboard anyway?

turn it sideways and lean on the heel edge.

Ian 01-05-2006 11:29 PM

oh, that doesnt seem hard.

Savage_Messiah 01-06-2006 12:40 AM

it SOUNDS easy.... but putting it into practice, ohhh boy

turbo96z28 01-06-2006 08:30 AM

hey Kasey, just grab a snowmobile if they have'em like i'm gonna do.

sled drags rule and it's just like riding a moped. all you have to do is give it gas. no shifting. and the minute you let off the throttle you'll slow to a stop.

PBodyGT87 01-06-2006 09:13 AM

i can rollerblade. maybe i'll just use snow blades, even though those are like, the "pansie" way to go.
