I agree with this 100% and I don't know how many mods you have done, but be very careful in the language you use when talking to these people. I have collector insurance on my 70 nova with an agreed upon value of 25K and it costs me 400 year. This is through Geisheimer Insurance (215) 364-9656, and the policy is underwritten by Condon and Skelly. Bob Geisheimer is a good guy and a racer to boot, so he knows what these cars are worth. I found him on www.godragracing.com (he's a site sponsor).
I was shot down by Haggerty's, Grundy's and American Collector's because the car has 8pt bar and on the actual paper application (not the on line quote) there is a question "Will this car be used in any timed event?" me being the honest guy answered yes and then explained it would only be the occasional trip to the track, the car is fully street legal and was not going to be campaigned in anyway nor would I expect coverage while at the track. That (racing) was all they need to hear and wham....denied. So be very careful, honesty is always the best policy, but maybe ya play dumb on that question.....
That's my experience....
