looks good, I think I'm going to repaint mine mid summer or when I get the super comps, do as best I can with the engine in the car, then later down the road when I do a swap I'll paint it the right way.

on the 4th gen tho they have schrader valves... liek the same **** thats on tire valvestems... so you cant really just release it without some fancy dancy tool, so yea i did something liek stick a screwdriver in there and put a rag over it so it didnt srpay everywhere... hells yea for ingenuity!

Would I really need a tune to ditch the A/C and emmisions? Emmisions are going soon anyway with the Race Style headers Im getting. Guess I have to go with a mail order...
|
to ditch A/C no... deleting emissions tho I myself would recommend getting a tune. PCM4Less is your friend... not sure if texas speed does LT1 tunes but if so thats another option
|
yeah your gonna want a tune especially after you get those headers too
|
guess I gotta start saving for one of those PCM For Less tunes... should be ready for all this in 2-3 weeks.
|
i have a 1LE a/c delete pulley i would sell if you want it let me know EGR AIR and A/C are all relatively easy to remove hardest part is getting the lies off of the back of the a/c compressor and thats not even that bad just gotta get stuff outta the way ie alternator things you need: egr block off plates, plugs for air pipes on headers, and a tune so MIL isnt on all the time, 1le a/c delete pulley

I have EGR plates comming out my ass at work  But my headers are race style.... 0 emmisions. When the time comes I'll be doing the work at my job but I not to sure if I can have other people in there. If we do it gentle couldn't I sell the left over parts? |
You prolly could... and also a sawzall can make things easier if you dot care about preserving two of the a/c lines (the ones that go to the back of the compressor)
Pulley... well, on my car I was just able to getashorterone and fight with it for a while till it went on... not sure if you can do that on LT1's too or not |

and if you have luck like me be prepared to be fighting with an exhaust manifold leak from the egr for months  idk about on your car but it took me a total of maybe a half hour to get everything from the egr off and that included cracking nasty ass rusted bolts :) if you have two bolts holding on your egr tubes your in luck if you have one, be prepared to fight with getting it sealed. im actually thinking about getting mine welded on but then comes the problem of what if i need to put the egr back in... :? actually i was just thinking i could have the plate welded on and if i need to put the egr back on i can put it there just for looks but it wont be functional  |

Id like to make it as clean as possible! I'll probably go with the pulley since I already have a new belt for the under/over drive pulleys on AlT & Crank, no need to disturb it! |
Yeah, you are gunna need a AC delete pulley.
|
They sell AC delete pulleys at autozone, etc. Motormite makes them. It's the air pump pulley you need to get from GM.
|
ummm.....there is no air pump pulley
air pump = electric |
Oops, sorry, forgot that one. Thinking 3rd gen. Might be wrong on the motormite pulley too then.
Edit: Motormite/Dorman does make one for 95 Z28 Part No. 34209 Motormite AC BYPASS PULLEY $36.96 According to parts america |
OK... I remembered what I did... loosened a connection, surrounded it with a rag tho so it wouldnt leak out and would get soaked up,... then kept loosening it more and more
