the whole dyno thing was for a truck club actually. one guy had a twin turbo cummins dodge, put down 358hp and 950tq

Sounds like it's time to ditch the Ford and get an F-body!
well i dont know but it should be pushing more then that.... i mean the ford 302 is the size of chevys 350....for mustang and the 3rd gen camaros came right around fords power cause ford motors had a smaller stroke then what the 305 did....ima 99.9 % sure on that but ill talk to rona nd make sure thats right....
from teh mid 80's through the end of the fox body generation in 93 teh most power any 5.0 mustang was ever rated at was 235hp and that was only teh cobra in 1993. the rest of the cars slowly eveolved from 180hp to 225.
meanwhile the LB9 (305 TPI) was introduced in 1985 and rated at 205/215 depending what source you refer to and the L98(350 TPI) was introduced in 1987 and rated at 225 which moved up to 245 by the end of the third gens in 92. at that point the f-body moved to the LT1 and the 235hp cobra found itself 40hp behind the base Z28/Formula/Trans Am engine. in summary, mustangs suck monkey poo through a straw. all of the above numbers are brought to you by :google: |
okay....but the ford 302 is the size of r 350...teh stroke maybe the same as are 305 but are 350 is stroked more or something liek that but i do knwo that the ford 302 is teh size of chevys 350....
the 302 is 302 cubic inches, the 305 is 305 cubic inches, and the 350 is 350 cubic inches. the ford 302 has a 4inch bore just like a chevy 350, but the ford uses a 3inch stroke as compared to the chevy's 3.48 inch stroke. the 305 and 350 both have the same stroke, but the 305 has much smaller bores.
