I hope it snows sunday night into monday because I have a huge project due then and I'm not ready haha.

They're still showing some good possibilities for a big storm Tues/Wed. The good news is that it will be pretty d@m cold so it should be a powdery snow and not heavy wet crap. Their talking about strong chances it will turn into a blizzard. I don't care about 6-10" of snow but I don't feel like dealing with 15-20+. I just hope it actually stays further south and out to sea and we get a dusting like we have every time so far this winter.

Take a ride to the Oswego, NY area, i think they just went over 10 ft THIS WEEK! And it is still snowing! They are expecting another 14 inches today!

JL8Jeff 02-10-2007 08:45 PM

They're now saying 12-18" for most of NJ except along the coast. Some areas could be up to 24" of snow. :willy: Get some fresh gas and sparkplug for your snowblower!

yes, i talked to some of my family today. amazing how localized the lake effect snow can get sometimes. everyone seems to be dealing withit ok though. streets get cleared every afternoon, no snow/cold related deaths or serious accidents reported.
it is funny watching on tv as a guy shovels off his second story roof and the snow only falls about 6ft before hitting the "ground" lol

the only bad part i am waiting for is when all this melts. one of my cousins operates a dairy farm in the chenango river basin. last years flooding put water with in a few feet of the house and there was going to be half the snow melt off that there is this year.

Knipps 02-10-2007 09:36 PM

little to no snow in the forecast for mahwah

Hopefully they will do what NYC does, start putting it in trucks and dump it in the lake (or river in their case). Probably some eco-standard that prevents dirty snow from being put into the lake it is just going to melt and run into anyway, I'm sure.

shoregirl 02-11-2007 09:40 AM

nto at all i cant stand the snow my car is piece and will hardly make it it in the snow lol. i cant wait for summer =]

JL8Jeff 02-11-2007 10:12 AM

Snowfall map. Plus, it's supposed to be real windy with drifting snow as well. Looks like fun! :-?

Henrys snowfall map...? lol ok you gotta explain that. i havent ever heard of that but i dont follow the weather at all or who is ever correct about the forecast, so you may be teaching us all a new source. :-)

and if that is true... i'm directly in the middle of that red region...sweet

BonzoHansen 02-11-2007 10:18 AM

Sweet. Sounds like it will start late enough so we can meet on Tues, and then let me stay home from work on Wed. :woot:

thats sort of the problem. 75% of the water from the north western ny basin ends up going down the three rivers in chenango county, one of which(the chenango river itself) cuts through my cousins property.
the water got so high last year that his fields were completely submerged and the water covered the several hundred yards between the chenagno creek and his house.
hopefully the slightly illegal improvements he made to the run off and spillway areas around the farm will work :)

lets see what this bitch storm can do!

Knipps 02-11-2007 01:59 PM

whatever JL8 posted up is crap.
there's no way that's happening

JL8Jeff 02-11-2007 04:59 PM

Updated snow map from Accuweather. We might get spared some of the serious heavy stuff but for some reason I doubt it.
