They also broke the visor on the driver door. He is supposedly ordering a replacement for me. Have not heard from him on that & SUmmit takes 2 days to ship to NJ.

Today the tranny got worse. Now it doesn't wanna go into gear when I put it into D every time. I have to manually shift sometimes & it still doesn't wanna catch then.

I put the stock PCM in today & no change.

Come Monday I will be disputing all charges from this shop.

Anyone want to buy a '99 GTP w/tranny problems? I'm done w/GM for a long while now.

Intense's stuff is way too hit or miss for me. My DHP was fine, then I got a custom tune.

You obviously don't know that the trannies in these cars are a well knownweak spot b/c GM f***ed up.

Thanks for playing.

Back to the topic at hand, thank you.

My Intense PCM was always fine.

As you can see, it was not the problem w/my car.

To top it off, I lost every gear except reverse last night. THis shop does great work!

Regarding Intense's stuff, I've heard horror stories about their LSD's, rockers, and their PCMs (creating too much KR)... I never chanced running their stuff myself. But if it has worked for you so far then it should be a non issue. Unless it changes shift points and firmness.

Anyway, back to your post. It's a garbage shop, like you already know. The transaxles aren't the greatest but they certainly aren't total POS's. There are plently of these cars on the road, and many of them are modded up. I had around ~120k trouble free miles on my '97 GTP before I brought it in to get freshened. It's been flawless the entire time I've had the car.

I am not taking sides just putting things in perspective

It stands to reason that anyone who races a vehicle whether it is GM, Ford, or any other vehicle knows that things will break. Usually it is always the weakest part of the vehicle. I really think that it is unfair to blame an entire vehicle manufacturer because something on a vehicle was broke due to racing or abuse of any vehicle. 8-)

For instance my T-56 is F'd up right now but I also know it was not a fault of the manufacturer or the tranny but because of my driving habits which is why I don't complain that it is GMs fault.

I really do hope that you get all of your issues worked out so that you can continue to enjoy driving these vehicles. :|

Jesus F'n Christ this thread is still active?!! Go to the shop...tell them you want your tranny fixed.....talk to the manager.....be nice, don't kiss his ass, but don't tell him to go F himself.....try to work out the problem......if they "fix" it and it breaks again, get an attorney. Don't tell the shop you're getting a lawyer.....they'll laugh it off-everyone says they'll get a lawyer. Actions speak louder than words. Or do what the guy that got screwed by Cherry Hill Dodge did, drive around with signs on your vehicle saying"Don't go to Cherry Hill Trans....etc.etc" Or call Fox news for help.

They have already had my car twice & obviously fixed NOTHING.

Goto Fox news' website and look for the "what's bugging you". or get ahold of their newsguy Dave Schratweiser. He goes after all the political corrupt and the buisnesses that are screwing people.

99TA 03-12-2007 01:22 PM

I just got done emailing Fox, NBC, WPVI & KYW. :D

Mike 03-12-2007 05:26 PM

no, i didnt know about gtp transmissions....but i know ive broke my ta and i know my 12k mile transmission in my brand new truck already had to be replaced, and im not crying about gm.

your basically just a tool that has to blame someone for everything, you should take everyones advice and either buy a new trans and put it in, or take it to a better shop..

if you refuse to do that, go cry somewhere else

Filing a lawsuit and serving papers is the most intimidating. Which I think is a completly acceptable course of action in this case.

You seem to be just an e-thug that lieks to call names behind his keyboard. Let's go over my GM problems for you though.

My Camaro started making some weird ass noise that no one could figure out. Then it didn't start after it rained & crap. No, not the opti b/c I replaced that.

The sunroof on my SC2 just stopped working & it gave a bs SES light all the time.

My Cavalier was a POS.

My old 98 GTP had tranny issues at 6Xk miles. Luckily someone ran me off the road a month into owning it so it was totaled.

My current GTP is junk

My current TA has an issue too!

Thank you for playing my game. I win.
Don't troll my thread anymore.

99TA 03-13-2007 01:57 AM

Called the shop today to tell them the trans took a **** again on friday & that I want a full refund. He's like I told you it wasnt set right blah blah so I told him that was bs & I put a stock pcm in & no change & then he says he'll fix it so I said you had it twice once for over a month you really think i'm gonna bring my car back there? I need to be refunded every penny. Then he says he will call me this afternoon & asks for my #. Of course he never called. I filed a complaint w/the bbb now & also contacted all the local news stations.

I got the dispute started w/my cc on the $428 charge, but i did the $1,364.25 on my debit & they say they won't dispute it b/c it was not a fraudulant charge. So I may be out that $ unless I file in small claims or whatever.

my sister's lexus is only a year and a half old and has already been brought back for service multiple times including an annoying clunk in the rear suspension the dealer cannot locate and an annoying squeak in the dash that they also can't locate, along with some broken interior panels. its not just GM, every car has problems. my buddies Saturn has 282k miles and is running like a champ. starts on the first crank on a stock, never rebuilt motor. its all about luck and maintenance.

good luck with your trans, i just got burned for 900 bucks on ebay. it happens, sometimes you just gotta fight until you have to just accept defeat and then write off your losses. but in any event, good luck to you.

id hate to be an ******* but you seem to be a tad close minded. as far as the camaro goes if no person can duplicate the problem, then the problem to that person doesnt exist (ie a noise). if it was a constant noise, i odn tknow who you took it to but they shouldnt have given up so easily. and as far as the opti goes doesnt mean the new part wasnt bad or that it was installed right.

that goes into everything else. these cars were built, not created, so they are far from perfect. you just happen to get lucky with the ones that turd more often, or it doesnt get fixed right the first time by whoever does it, like in your trans case.

talk to an attorney.

The noise was always there so no one had to try to duplicate it. The car was junk. I installed the opti so I know it was right.
