then again, maybe the cops would actually have to enforce of the easy revenue tickets like SPEEDING!!!! oh wait, first the cop would have to drop below 90mph to write the ticket, guess that will never happen.

lol tim the revenue comes from the extra money it costs to register our cars and rent 2 plates instead of one.....

and they only pay the inmates a dollar or 2 a day

my buddy who works at a shop that does state inspection told me about this...there were a couple other things he said they were "over-looking". One of them happened to be rust. we were by my parts truck when he pointed it out. he said before if you had any rust that was overly bad or sticking out they would have to fair you. not any more. he said a couple other things but i forget what they were, ill ask my dad but i sure as hell no he didnt hear him and probably wasnt paying attention lol.

Yup, that is what the article I posted said. Poor Jeff, he didn't have to sell his truck.

i have a nice SLP SS Grille, so no front plate for me

lastcall190 03-05-2007 08:59 PM

Had mine covered for the longest time by the panel... got stopped just the other day, got a warning, went home and took it off. I don't care, considering I was far happier for not getting tint, loud exhaust, no cats, etc. etc. hahaha

i have no front plate on the ta its worth the 54 bucks not to have it .... looks 50x better plus its an easy way to get out of other tickets like others said same reason i have a cover on my rear plate

don't change the price, just the number of plates handed out. profit goes up and the useless stuff they can do with my tax dollars expands from there.
this is seriously a high school level business class question at best.

Savage_Messiah 03-05-2007 11:52 PM

i had my front plate off for... hm, probably 6 months or less. Don't remember. After my second warning for it I put it on, IMO looks aren't worth tickets/unecessary attention. Same thing happened with my blackouts.

Problems74 03-06-2007 12:26 AM

I got pulled over a few weeks back for 73 in a 50, and the officer tried to get me on not having my front plate on. He half expected me to studder and look baffled trying to make a lazy ass excuse, but when I shot off to him saying that it was an out of production vehicle and that they no longer make front mount license brackets for this vehicle, he looked at me with a open mouth, not really expecting me to have a response. I also added that aftermarket brackets do not stay there as well, and the plate keeps falling off.. he just sulked back to the car.. and wrote me a speeding ticket instead.. which the jerkoff didn't even issue correctly.. ....yea I am fighting it. Wish me luck. haha

- Problems
p.s. ...see that signature its my car, and it remains that way. No plate, No worries, and still.. at least for the moment.. No tickets for it.

Savage_Messiah 03-06-2007 02:01 AM

yea.... if i got pulled over speeding I woulda taken the plate ticket

maroman88 03-06-2007 06:17 AM

yea that was just dumb

oh one ls1 SS 03-06-2007 05:01 PM

front plate? whats that? havent had one any of my f-body's or my one jap crap since 2001. only for a few tickets and most of them were down the shore in the summer.

ryanfx 03-06-2007 07:19 PM

one time I got pulled over for sixteen counts of reckless driving. The cop tried to give me a tint ticket but I said NO WAY BUDDY! I WANT DEM SPEEDING TIX!

theres also a petition online for the NJ legislators to change the requirment...Click here to sign

lol

I'm laughing, because I'm the one that came up with that petition 4 years ago. The only thing I did with it was send it, via email link, to Acting Governor Cody, as a money-saving idea for the state. He asked for ideas and this was mine, but all I got was a thank you for the idea response. Yeah, I didn't try too hard with this one, but maybe somebody else can.

I think online petitions do not have as much weight as actual signed petitions, because they don't have actual signatures. Anybody can just get on the website and type in fictional names to exaggerate the number of people who support the petition.

It's also funny that I've seen other people on that petition website use my petition as a template for their own state.
