hey old man, mountain dew barely has any caffeine in it, IIRC the Colas contain more caffeine. :moon: if you really wanna go hardcore with the caffeine drink surge (idk if they still make it), vault or some good old jolt

We used to drink the Jolt Cola back in college when it first came out. I actually think it's one of the better tasting cola's but it would probably put a hurting on me nowadays. My system is more used to beer than soda.

NJSPEEDER 04-25-2007 08:22 PM

jolt is still around but they have changed their formula and added a bunch of really crappy flavors. that stuff was definately a gift in college. the label said it all "twice the sugar and double the caffeiene". i still have the limited edition glass bolttes of it around here someplace(empty bottles)

NP_00'T/A 04-25-2007 09:03 PM

flavored sparkling water... the black cherry tastes like black cherry cola too me its pretty good can get it at the local grocery store

BonzoHansen 04-25-2007 09:31 PM

I used to drink Jack & Jolts in college....

You should only drink gatorade when you've lost electrolytes from sweating. If you drink it like a beverage all the time it's too much sodium. There is a lot of salt in gatorade. No good for the heart.
I substitute soda for iced tea. The caffiene is worse in iced tea than it is in soda, but whatevs. I get the unsweetend kind in a restaurant, keep the sugar light, or use splenda. I dont recommend the iced tea if you wanna stay away from caffiene. Don't get the raspberry kind, that's almost always a fountain tea, along with peach, and has just as much sugar as soda, if not more.

if you wanna flavor your water you could always get some of those little travel packs of light tea mix or lemonade.

Ohh, and Vitamin Water is AWESOME.

vitamin water is just as bad as gatorade (sugar/carbs/calories), only thing is it has vitamins

Splenda is discugsting though, and those crystal light packs are filled with it. I've just been doing water & seltzer.

I just said it was awesome, I didn't say to drink it all the time. I don't think it has as much salt as gatorade though. But you're right, it's full of other stuff you don't need either.

I do the same, I order an unsweetened iced tea but I add nothing to it. Just tea and water.

Vitamin Water is now under the Coke Umbrella, BTW. I'm not sure if that will change anything.

i was a heavy mt. dew and jolt addict. if i couldn't get my hands on either of those, coca-cola. i stopped, but increased my coffee intake. not sure if i am doing better or worse.

i drink between 1.5 to 2 gallons of filtered water per day. no iced tea, fruit juice or gatorade for me. water helps so many parts of your body remain healthy, so i will just stick to that.

ehh stuff happens, i forgot to check the date kill me why dont ya?

i never realized that gatorade was that bad for you, i switched from soda to gatorade, looks like it wasnt that good of a choice :? i dont think ive ever had vitamin water, but i do like the flavored water, its kinda the same stuff....

Blackbirdws6 05-28-2007 10:00 AM

soda is tough to stop drinking because the extra sugar and caffeine boosts your body depending on how much you drink. You stopping cold turkey will usually lead to you feeling lethargic because your body isn't getting its usual pick me up. I would try having less soda every week and then lowering that amount each successive week. If you honestly can't stop then go with a 0-calorie version so your not taking in the unnecessary calories but still get the fizz you like.

Good luck
