i cant tell how bad the bumper is but they will probably write to repair that 1/4 rather than replace it... alot of work goes into replacine a 1/4 because it has to be cut out and welded in on top of filler work after all the welding and such... much quicker to band that out and/or make a few pulls to get the dent out and filler work.... quicker means cheaper and insurance companies dont like to spend money... good luck tho... nasty dent...

haha yea its nasty looking, i could care less how it gets fixed, my guess also is that it will get pulled out best they can and then bondo'd up. the bumper is just scuffed up

There's no way in hell they'll repair that 1/4 panel. Even if they welded tabs and pulled it out and tried to repair it the metal is too stretched and creased, not to mention 80% of the panel will have mud work. That's a replacement ALL day long. Same with the bumper, they'll most likely write to replace that as well(well they should anyway)

i agree it should be replaced but they might still write it for repair seeing its not crushed its just dented and think the replacement will cost to much compared to the repair... insurance companies dont like to spend money... we've repaired stuff like that before maybe even worse because they dont want to pay for the replacment... labor on top of parts also adds up... the end result is the same factory appearing finish...as long as the metal isnt torn that can be repaired...

I know it can be repaired.
:looks down at appraiser's license: I'm sure they'll try writing repair off the bat but it should be replaced. I'd be worried about the top part of the wheelhouse too. The price of the 1/4 is in between 500-600(I can't remember the exact price) and CCC only pays 10hrs to replace. If I was writing this at the shop I'd write to replace that without question. |
