Well, at least if he's gunna go with a Non-V8 engine, let it at least be a GM engine.

yeah, but to someone that doesnt know exactly what an LS1 is, i mean.

japanese engine codes at least give you displacement, induction, etc

if you guys think a JDM motor in an f body is so wrong... im sure you dont want to hear about my ideas for twin, side by side mounted I4 turbo motors from Lancer Evos.... haha, some of you heave heard me explain it and how it'd work.

...then theres my rear engine AWD 3rd gen concept...
...and my possible TT LS1 conversion project...

alexm 05-26-2007 01:08 AM

the rb26 motor is a very capable piece of engineering i would go for it if you've got the chance. RX7 v8 swaps are so much fun and they rock big time when they are finished.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do i've had experience with the sr20det, rb25det, 2jz and the rb36dett from previous cars and the rb26 and 2jz engines are amazing i wouldn't even hesitate to complete this swap

building up a V6 that BELONGS in an F-body is diferent. you should be ****-smacked by an elefant for that.

LOL....should've put my fire suit on with some of those fire retardant gel.

i guess it's kind of a split decision, about 1/2 of you say go for it, the other half thinks I should go spend some time at JDM-anonymous and pray to the shrine of american V8's.

I've done the V8 thing......now i'm just looking for something different....and my particular taste at this moment in time is such.

12secondv6 05-26-2007 02:55 PM

Damn.... ***** load of ignorance here.....

ok i own a v6 f-bod and tbh i'm happy with it for what i need it for. if i wanted to build another car i would probably build a supra again

jin1481 05-26-2007 06:59 PM

i think its a pretty interesting idea.

Off topic and back to the LS1 RX7, the LS1 T-56 combo only ways 55lb over the stock RX7 drivetrain. So that pretty much makes it the greatest conversion ever.

case and point......Fast and the Furious(Gay and the Curious as i call it) Tokyo drift

You DO know that the DZ302 is less than 5 liters, right :wink:

DieselKickYoAss4Sure 05-26-2007 09:40 PM

i have an 11 liter cat in a chevy pickup! so anything can be done i honestly feel that its stupud to put one of those engiens in because its not bigger that what comes in the car!

Ian 05-26-2007 09:44 PM

why is everyone so hung up on displacement?

its WAY easy to build power with one of those turbo motors, its not like the car is gonna be a slug :lol:

slasherbarb 05-26-2007 10:00 PM

boon, get the skyline engine, drop it in a 4th gen, crank up the boost, and smoke some of the nay sayers here...i personally love skylines and some of the work people do to them...i would kill for a 99 Skyline GTR34...

Yeah, those GN's and TTA were sure ricer pieces of ****. :rofl: :rofl:

DAMN GM for making a V6 in the 80's that with a few minor tweaks would make LS1's cry :lol:

Frosty 05-27-2007 10:22 AM

..and yeah..RX7+LSx conversion=pure sex

BigAls87Z28 05-27-2007 01:13 PM

DZ302 = 5.0 liters? No?

Skyline in a 4th gen? Neg, they are ugly as it is. Thirdgen FTW!

technically its 4.9, just like the LS1 (346) is a 5.6

Ian 05-27-2007 01:28 PM

302 = 4.9 liters
