After I realized it was over and the cable didn't go out, I thought that too...it's one of those "create your own ending" deals. But still, for a series of this magnitude, the episode was rather weak. HBO did a better job with the ending of Six Feet Under.

i took the song as a reference to there making another season... like dont stop believing in us or sumthin....
i thought my tv and cable box blew out or sumthing then i was like WTFFF ran up to hit and slapped it a few times.... then the credits came on.... and i was like wowwww that sucked..... some girl calls me and was like wtf happend i think my satellite messed up.. i was like OMFG OMG whatt a ending i cannt believe tony got clipped by them black dudes.... she was like WHATTTT I CANT BELIEVE I MISSSSED IT OMG.... then i was like nah j/k the ending did suck like that lol... then i read on other s*** and posts that tony got killed by the trucker.... here ill copy and paste what i read """" -Word is, think back a few episodes, Tony and his late brother in-law in the boat "when your time comes..you dont even hear the shot" and it happened when meadow ran in..BLACKOUT...(the guy that was @ the bar/went to the bathroom) T- got killed kids.... Tony is dead! This is from another site, but makes sense: A) First episode of this season Bobby says you don't hear it when you're shot. B) Second to last episode of this season, Tony flashes to Bobby saying you don't hear it when you're shot. C) The entire story arc was about Tony - when Tony's gone, the arc is done. D) In the diner, every time someone walked through the door, the perspective changed to Tony's as he looked up E) After the last bell jingle, just as the perspective changed to Tony's everything went black and silent - as though the person whose perspective we were to shift to was no longer alive F) The cat was a reminder that Tony killed Chris, and had Adriana killed. The cat was a reminder that Tony's a bad guy - who has it coming. G) There was so much symmetry between Phil's execution in front of his family and Tony's last moments H) We all know how much Godfather III ruined the Godfather movies. I think the focus on Meadow was a reference to the Godfather. David Chase didn't end it the way Godfather III ended. This time the boss gets killed. I) Every other episode ended in music during the credits. This one had no music because Tony's dead. J) Episode titles have always meant something. This episode's title referred to Bobby's gift of the gun to Tony. When he gave it to him he made the comment about how everything would just go silent when you were shot. K) The ending was so incredibly brilliant. We all felt what it was like to be Tony in those final five minutes. We all felt nervous, anxious, just as he must have felt. After being absorbed into Tony's experience, we were left with silence and blackness like death because... Tony is dead. |
you took the wrods out of my mouth, i was just thinking this after calming down from last night

phil was killed at a gas station. they also used several gas stations as backdrops in the search for phil. dunno which was the one you're speaking of, but they had several in last night's episode.
as for those of you who have not watched, well, i can only say one thing, and i am sure many would agree with me: your loss. |

Last paragrapgh:
Not from Chase, but I feel the need to debunk the e-mail that's making the rounds about all the Holsten's patrons being characters from earlier in the series. The actor playing Members Only guy had never been on the show; Tony killed at least one, if not both, of his carjackers; and there are about 17 other things wrong with this popular but incorrect theory. |
similar to Jared's reply...taken from myspace. What this person says fits right in to everything.
ok listen guys...u gotta wach the end of the episode again and wach closely...here is wat ul c...when tony walks into the diner he looks at himself sitting down at the table...u can be sure of this b/c he is wearing different clothes when he sits down...i dont no wtf that means...in previous seasons it had been told to us that tony's dad died just as his daughter (janus) walked in...if u wach closely u will see janus walk in shortly after tony sits down...this is used to signify the possibility of that happening again...then u will c the sports store owner who tony destroyed walk in wearing a brown kinda hunting jacket...he is the guy that a couple seasons ago got into gambling trouble with tony and tony took over his store...HE IS THE 1 WHO WACKS TONY...he comes in and sits down hunched over...hiding his eyes as not wanting to be noticed...and alas..."u probly dont even here it when it happens rite?" (this is bobby talking to tony in the 1st episode of the season...tony had this flashback as he was laying down in the last episode...there would be no reason to have had that in unless it had some huge significance)...and finally...tonys daughter walking in to c her dad get shot just as janus did so many years ago...u hear the bell of her walking in and then blackness...nuthing...it signifies the neverending cycle of the soprano family...aj will become tony...meadow will become janus...carmela will become livia (tonys mom)...and cycle of violence goes on and on and on....absolutlely amazing...i HATED the ending at first...but when i wached it again...and understood it...it is really the most amazing ending possible for the show...we really would not have been satisfied with the boring u c tony git shot ending...this was priceless...remember..this was not an action show...it was a drama about a FAMILY Tony IS DEAD and WAS CLIPPED by someone. We the audience have always seen the episodes from Tony's point of view, and the blackened silence is what Tony sees and hears when he finally gets clipped. Remember the conversation with Bobby at the lake? "I wonder if you hear the one that gets you" - the final episode answers that question. That is why they flashed back to it at the end of last weeks episode. He never heard the one that killed him. |
I recently read a theory that it wasn't Tony that got killed, rather it was the audience that gets whacked.

honestly.... with the line "well good, I'll be forcecd to use public transportation, we need to break our dependence on foreign oil" who could possibly say AJ will become Tony?! hahaha |
Pointing at the cat "It's like a snake with fur!"
|
Tony did get whacked guys how do u not see that? The shows are told from Tony's point of view, remember the dialogue about when u get clipped you don't see or hear anything it just goes black? Just think about that and rethink the ending!
|
thats what I was thinking....but it still sucks
