Anyone have a number where I can call him? Since I am at work all night, I wont get a chance to swing up there. Anyone have his room tel number?

Squirrel 08-13-2007 09:25 AM

al, he has his cell with him
if you need that number ill pm it to ya

jims69camaro 08-13-2007 11:34 AM

god dammit. this is too much. i feel for you, dude. i am glad it wasn't worse, too, as we could've lost ya. there are way too many bad drivers out there and if your concentration lapses for a split second you can become a statistic.

hope the meds are treating you well. remember to keep the water intake high, because the codeine will dry you out. since he won't be home for a coupla days (if not longer) i would appreciate it if anyone who goes to see him reminds him about this.

hope you make a full and speedy recovery. get well soon so you can get back to your regular activities.

Thanks alot everyone. I finally found a way to get a laptop in here so here I am. I really appreciate all the kind words and hopefully Ill be out of here soon. The accident occurred as Fish said it did with the 17yr old girl making an abrupt u-turn from the right hand lane while i was travelling in the left lane. I have a broken left ankle with pins in it and a severely broken right leg, referred to as an "open compound tib/fib fracture". Essentially the two large bones in my right shin snapped and poked through the skin, causing one hell of a mess, and leaving my foot pretty much dangling off my leg. Other than that I have some relatively minor road rash and a highly deminished need for a motorcycle

I really appreciate all the calls and everyone stopping by very much and if you have the oppurunity to do either it really means alot to me. The phone number for the hospital is posted above.

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese biker failed to notice his leg had been severed below the knee when he hit a safety barrier, and rode on for more than a mile, leaving a friend to pick up the missing limb.

The 54-year-old office worker was out on his motorcycle with a group of friends in the city of Hamamatsu, west of Tokyo, on Monday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and bumped into the central barrier, the Mainichi Shimbun said.

He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying.

The man and his leg were taken to a hospital, but the limb had been crushed in the collision, the paper said.
