Thanks for all the replies today guys I'll try to answer your questions first - I was spinning with street tires but I ran my best 60' 2.056 like that, It was my first pass ever 13.9 @ 98 and my fastest. Full lt4 conversion - heads, intake manifold, hot cam. BBK shorty headers, high flow cat and flowmaster. Timing never gets pulled, the knock sensor isn't picking up knock. I anvanced my spark maps until it knocked then I pulled it back. Now shes clean. I belive the injector pulse is just under 18, I'll check on that. I ran the MT's at 25 lbs.

I'm trying to find a shop near me in central NJ to get my car dyno tuned
That seems like the next step for me
Thanks alot for all the input, any more comments welcome

Yeah definatley check all your ignition parts and get it tuned, I thinl you'll be pleased with the results.

94lt4373 08-14-2007 07:40 PM

yea I'll check the ignition stuff, thanks batman

There are very few places that tune LT1s.....I say your best bet would be to invest in a wideband O2 sensor, and keep tuning it yourself on the street and on the track.

Your stock O2 sensors are designed to work best right around 14.7:1, but that's not optimal for power. Since you are trying to get the A/F lower than that, your stock O2s won't be very accurate. This is where the wideband comes in.

My dad just told me he found a guy near him (scotch plains) for $150 a hour he uses his own program on the dyno. Everyone says he is a brain. He is in rockaway - "Bruces speed shop". Anybody deal or hear of him?

Tru2Chevy 08-14-2007 08:18 PM

Just be wary of people that only want to tune you on a dyno, and don't do a street tune as well.

94lt4373 08-14-2007 08:30 PM

I didn't ask if he did a street tune ... didn't know

94lt4373 08-14-2007 08:43 PM

Well my dad talked to him so I only know what my dad told me. My dad has a rice burner shop, but he has a 69 Stang vert, 69 Chevelle 396(Motor and trans just put in) and a 71 stang, hard to admit but they built a 9 second civic - 9.911 best at 152, they ran at island and E-town. Last saturday they blew a rod through the block in 4th and still ran a 10.823

LT4 converted cars have seen 350 RWHP correctly tuned with full bolt ons, you should be way in the 12's with a properly tuned car...i suggest you send some of your datalogs to madz28/pcm4less on cz28 and see what they have to say

just got home from island with the new tci 3000 rpm stall and it cut almost .3 in the 60' - .5 in the 1/8 and .5 in the 1/4. The guy thats gonna do my tune wanted the TC put in first so I thought I run it and see what it did alone. I was impressed but cant wait for the tune...

I cant stand the single light tree on friday night and I was only interested in my numbers so I just launched when the other guy did. Thats why my rt's sucked but i still beat a rx 7 and a saturn they ran 14.2 and 14.3

So what do you think still just need a tune or what?

bad64chevelle 09-21-2007 11:20 PM

I think something is really wrong because you should be quite a bit quicker than that. I think you need a tune asap and see what that gets you.

94lt4373 09-21-2007 11:29 PM

Yup thats the next step

For a single mod I think there were big gains.

bad64chevelle 09-22-2007 10:42 AM

Tuning is amazing, it made a world of difference on my 94 when I had it. The car was just intake, headers, exhaust, 3:73s, subframes, drag shocks, and a tune. It was done by Jon Prevost, but I havent seen him on here in ages! It was probably the single best modification I did. I would hope it could wake that car up to where it is supposed to be, otherwise the driver mod could use work...

JerzLT1 09-22-2007 05:23 PM

My LT1 car has CAI, LCAs and !Muffler (plus a little weight reduction) and i ran a 13.33 @ 103.95. with the Bigs and littles and a little more weight taken out im looking at 12s without even being full bolt on... for now =)

94lt4373 09-23-2007 01:26 AM

That makes me feel better...NOT Ha Ha Ha I'm gonna get the tune done and if i'm not in the low-mid 12's I'm gonna be pissed. Anyone know a tuner near me if my guy craps out? PS whats bigs and littles mean?

Bigs n littles = slicks and skinnies.

And I would take j0n's advice - if you don't get something good worked out with this guy, I would go to either MadZ28 or PCM4Less
