the rest of this year the civilian Crown Vic will be limited production and then in 08 the police Interceptor can only be bought for fleets

Slo86Bird 10-28-2007 12:16 PM

the v6's are actually pretty fast. my dad rented one and we beat the crap outta it for 2 days, but for a v6 its fast.....ledgewood nj has 2 i believe and thats all i know of around my area.

depends on which V6, i no the police package has the 3.5 tho. we had a rental with the 2.7L and holy balls was that ever the slowest car EVER

Slo86Bird 10-28-2007 06:53 PM

idk what it had, just a v6 and it was pretty quick.

V-6???, what the crap???!!!! why the hell would they get V-6's for a cop car? i was sure they would have the SRT-8 motor or ATLEAST the 5.7L Hemi so they could :burnout: and catch ppl. lol. u get one of those on a highway in a chase and someone with a "soop'd up Civic" could "smoke him yo" Cop cars need to be able to :drive: !!!! lol

The last Yankee game I went to I saw a few NYPD Chargers. With that pushbar in the front it looks very aggressive. Bo and Luke would have had their work cut for them with one of the Hemi ones chasing the General!

MonmouthCtyAntz 10-29-2007 10:56 AM

None in Jersey (where Ive been anyway) but there all over the place in Delaware ...On the way home from my mothers summer home I saw them both in municipalities and State police

Z28Justin 10-29-2007 11:28 AM

i was told that new jersey police departments dont buy the V8's due to our no chase law. there would be no reason.

Predator86 10-29-2007 02:05 PM

im pretty sure i saw a south plainfeild cop charger...

maroman88 10-29-2007 06:04 PM

v6 vs v8 is a departmental decision

the 3.5L V6's have ATLEAST the same HP as the crown vics 4.6 V8 lol

Tru2Chevy 10-29-2007 06:30 PM

No reason for city cops to have Hemi's....there isn't much room in downtown Trenton to make use of the extra power.

both are rated at 250 hp, but I'm sure the 4.6 has more torque.

Specs on both:

just saw a state cop today w/ a new tahoe pulling some one over... like seeing my tax money being wasted on these ********, seriously couldn't that money be spent on somthing better or more usefull, or atleast returned?

crazyblazer87 10-29-2007 09:16 PM

Well i know that by malvern pa there is a srt cop car. Believe it is a magnum (or atleast what i am told by the Chrysler school that i go to). The cop cars use 3.5 usually. They are the same motors as the one that normal customers can buy the only difference is the software. The cops dont have any restrictions/governors on the motors.
