There is every kind of different information from the sports casters to the papers. Whats true and what isnt who the hell knows. The most obvious is he should have never opted out to begin with or allow that information to get out by his manager. If the manager did something he wasnt suppose to I am sure that is a breach of contract. I doubt the manager would put his commision on the line doing something stupid. So everything that went down I assume was at the approval of AROD. And its not like AROD didnt know the Yanks management would slack on there offer he just got greedy. Money wise I was talking about other teams. Noone out there was offering him what he wanted. If someone did he would not be back talking with the Yankees. Plain as day he said he went back to try and talk to the Yankees to stay in NY. So he is crawling back, but I think the Yankees should not be offering him a deal, but they are. Since I got out of the USMC in 2001 I have been buying the same seats at Yankee stadium. And those same seats have doubled since 2001. Why? these damn multimillion dollar unloyal players who play for the highest bidder. This isnt just with Arod its with the whole league. Players dont stay loyal to there team and Fans who support them. You obviously like this player, but loyalty suppose to be from the heart and not who has the highest payroll for him.

im not a yankee fan, i just dont like people talking about things they dont know about, such as calling boras a manager, he is an AGENT he dosent manage arods life, he helps set up contracts.

and about prices doubling since 01, thats not just the yankees and not just because they spend money, if you were trying to sell a product (baseball games) and sold out no matter what you charged for seats, you would do the same thing no matter if the players got paid a lot or played for free.

Agent or Manager He gets paid for any of ARODS dealings. Not just contracts something you might pick up in todays paper actually. Contracts for commercials, sponsers Etc!!!! HE gets paid for!!!And if your not a fan of the Yankees why in the hell you saying anything. Just want to start something you dont know about then I guess. And I have friends all over the U.S. and there tickets have not gone up nowhere near as us in NY have. So do your research before speaking.

any area that sells out seats to every game, and is a consistant playoff team will have similar price increases. and if price increases are solely due to players making too much, how come prices have gone up in basketball and football where they have salary caps for the teams?

The Salary Caps were implemented because it was getting out of control with the rediculous salaries of all the players. And it was being passed on at the Box Offices and its to a point some families can no longer afford to go to any of these sport events anymore. Why you say again? SALARIES??? Everything revolves around the Salaries. Michael Jordan said it best when he said its a shame what the games have turned into too. Todays players get paid without even earning it 1st like he did. Micheal Jordan the best NBA player of all time retired and wasnt even the highest paid player in the NBA. Now thats an MVP and a real athlete. There is no more Loyalty or just the love of the game like it all started. Just a paycheck and I will play for you thats it.

Those days are over they will never go back to those days. And Jordan didnt go back to play for money he went back for the LOVE of the game. There is a difference.

regardless of going back to those days or not, the owners greed outweighs the players greed or we would have never left those days, contracts got so high because owners were willing to outbid each other for players, now if those players werent making the money they are, the owners would STILL be charging an arm and a leg to watch them

That I agree with, but not as bad as it is now. Its a fact of life everything just goes up in price, but these contracts are the biggest cause of that.

A-rod is either a two faced liar, or his agent is a dumbass. I thought he wasn't going to play for the yankees because they didn't offer him $350M to initiate talks? The Yankees told him to have fun getting that number from anyone. No one obviously wanted to step up to the plate. I've heard a $252M number for 10 years. $25M a year I don't know what he made the last few years but I thought it was a lot more.

Either way the bum can't hit for crap in the playoffs. Regardless of the crappy pitching if he gets on base or the person in front of him does and he can score them it changes things. He didn't do either. He's a great seasonal player but come playoff time BYE BYE.

about the Yankees and sell out games;

they are a little misleading. The team changed the rules regarding scalpers and ticket sale caps after 2005. It used to be you could only purchase 6 tickets for any one game to deter ticket scalpers and make it harder for them. Starting in 2006, they lifted that rule and made it so anyone could buy as many tickets as they wanted for any game. So what you had were scalpers going to ticketmaster and to the box office at the stadium and buying tickets in huge numbers. Another rule they changed that year was that game attendance was measured by tickets counted at the gates apon entrance. Now it's solely counted on ticket sales for that game. So what that now means is that if all 57,545 tickets are sold for one game, it's considered a sell out, NOT if all 57,545 tickets are counted at the gate. So the scalpers are allowed to buyout the games, sell the tickets off for a higher price since fans can't get a hold of tickets like they used to, and not have to worry about loosing some money on tickets not sold. This way the Yankees get all the money for selling out each game regardless of how many fans actually show up. And to make matters worse, the new Yankee stadium will have LESS seats than the one now. But they will be adding luxury boxes for corporate rich folks. This will lower available seats for an already high demand, thus allowing the Yankees to increase ticket prices again. Probably with the excuse that they need to make money back from paying for the new stadium, of which they paid for on their own, and refused money from MLB and the city, at a cost of 1 billion dollars.
