I don't think I have any mp3's of any of the songs I laid drums down to. Wish I did.

I strum guitar (NOT play, there's a difference...real guitarists will tell you) and sing lead in a country band. For a guitar player, I'm a pretty good singer.

I've been playing guitar since I was 13. I also played bass in a band from high school through college. We almost got signed by a pretty decent label, but our drummer ending up wanting to follow jazz more and once he lost interest the band just fizzled out.

The Fixer 02-27-2008 10:09 AM

I've been playing trumpet for 25 years - started the summer before 5th grade, and I'm 34 now. I was a music major in college and am currently a high-school music teacher and freelance trumpet player. I usually play at churches for weddings and holidays like Xmas and Easter. I've also been in a ska band called Ground 46 with a few former students. The highlight of my career with them was opening for Inspecter 7 at some club in the Edison area (maybe Starland or something?) like 8 years ago.

Equipment? -
Bach Stradivarius Bb Trumpet - Model 43 with a reverse leadpipe
Bach Stradivarius C Trumpet - custom built with a reverse leadpipe

and a lefty Dean guitar, cause I want to get better at the guitar!

GrandmasterCow 02-27-2008 10:31 AM

Turmpet, guitar, bass... that's in order of proficiency but I'm rusty on all 3 unfortunately

i kept trying to follow music but life kept getting in the way. do what you love now and extend that as long as possible. before you know it life will come knocking at your door.

my stuff: yamaha BX-1, cross-bred p-bass fretless (made from three basses - took all of the things i liked from each bass and made one i love), no-name acoustic with Dean Markley pickup, peavey mini-bass amp (all of 15 watts, we're jammin' now!). i've also got a wireless setup here somewhere. put to task i could probably dig it up.

edit: i also have some mixing software on the other computer. i used it to produce a song that was farmed out to different people via email. once all of the parts were recorded, i mixed it down. pretty decent stuff for 5 people who never met each other.

The Fixer 03-01-2008 11:07 AM

Oh, I found a clip of me playing trumpet with the band "The Bad Scene" a couple months ago at Maxwell's in Hoboken. The drummer and guitarist/singer are former students of mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INWWi...;20Bad%20Scene

Enjoy!

nj96z28 03-01-2008 11:37 AM

been playing the trumpet for about 15 years, can also play the drums, baritone, bass guitar and piano a wee bit :)
