As has already been said, you took the new-ish comment the wrong way, it was only meant as related to this forum. I understand mechanics perfectly well, and without knowing any background you really shouldn't make assumptions. I also run a 7-second dragster at Island, and I'd really like to know who your friend is, because I guarantee he is a friend of mine as well. Weekly inspections only go so far, and you cannot tell me that equipment doesn't fail. You name me any of the drivers in super at Island, and I will tell you when they had something break. It happens.
I also have no idea if you get off on the name calling thing. Calling me ignorant and saying that I'm bragging about something is completely uncalled for. Nowhere in any of my posts was I "bragging." I stated a fact, to show that in all actuality, damage to run ratio is actually pretty low. I could "brag" about a lot of things, but I choose not to. If I didn't know how to drive, people would not come up to me and ask me to run their cars, either to see what the car will run, to jump into a gamblers race, or simply because they want to see their car go down the track. If I was ignorant, and didn't know how to drive, I wouldn't have been asked to drive a $100,000 pro-mod car, which I turned down because I didn't trust the mechanics on the car.
Enough with the name calling and derogatory comments. It's completely unnecessary in life and on this board, and are only used to make the person throwing them feel better about themselves.
