I didn't read the article so I'm not sure if it mentions what I'm about to say. Now that the government made polar bears an endangered species Alaska CANNOT drill on most of it's land. You can't touch the habitat of an endangered species. Lets ignore the fact that the population is at it's highest since the 70's LOL. This was a nice win for the tree huggers. This pissed off the governor of Alaska big time. She's suing the federal government :).
I'll do my best not to turn this into a political debate but I've done so much reading on how bad our energy situation is and how WE have caused this ourselves. People want to blame OPEC, they want to blame Big Oil(that one pisses me off) and a bunch of other things. We need to look at our own government for this mess. Ridiculous laws, special interest groups and a bunch of other things are stopping us from becoming energy independent. It's our own fault, we made our beds and now it's time to lay in it. No one in Washington has the balls to say F U to the environmentalists and drill. It's killing our economy, it's killing the middle and lower classes and no one is doing a God damn thing about it. Oh wait, we decided to take a food supply and waste it on trying to make gas out of it. GOOOOOOOO tree huggers.
