do you guys actually do something like cruise around or whatever??? damn i know gas prices are kinda high but damn ive resorted to have to cruise around with the german cars...lots of audis in hamilton.

if you guys actually do something rather than hang around id come out...but standing around in new brunswick at midnight just sounds like i can get that type of experience at my friends house in trenton :moon::mrgreen:

BigAls87Z28 06-26-2008 02:25 PM

Yeah, tahs what we do. Its just a bunch of friends hanging out. Dont wana join? Good.

CamaroGirlie 06-26-2008 02:26 PM

Its just a bunch of friends standing around and hanging out bs'ing. Gas is too expensive to just cruise around.

BigAls87Z28 06-26-2008 02:38 PM

Even when gas was plentiful and flowed freely, we still didnt cruise around. We hung out, ate, shot the ****e, and forged friendships that transend the club.

 Well said.

that is the best kind of get togethers....like the 2nd tuesday deals in the central. You can drive around whenever. It's not all about cars...it's about the people that like them.

NastyEllEssWon 06-26-2008 02:56 PM

rofl

people suck

for me its the cars

have fun at the trucks:nod:

BigAls87Z28 06-26-2008 03:04 PM

Well, this is just a sign that there is a line between the classic members, and newboids.
Newboids just wana roll around for no reason.
Classic members are friends, there for eachother, friendships that will most likely last a lifetime.

Ill add this as well. Website aside, I have been friends with some people on this board through many forums for years. I have met many people over the years that are still good friends of mine, and would do just about anything for them and some of them Id do everything for them.

Thats something you cant do driving around.

CamaroGirlie 06-26-2008 03:17 PM

Well said Al

yeah i guess that is the difference. im not here to make friends with people, just their cars. i can care less what people have to say when there are nice cars nearby. i guess nj car meets are different than the rest of the country. if im gonna hear any hot air it better be coming from the back end of your car...or im not paying attention.

Then you would have hated our group out at Carlisle. We hung with 100+ NastyZ28 (2nd gen site) people all weekend. From all over, Texas, Georgia, California, Illinois, NJ, NY, mass, etc… The show field is just a closer place to park, lol.

I never begrudge people for what they like (except honduhs with a wing on a wing on a wing & lambo doors, lol) - To each his own….but I think you’re missing out….

Well your obviously on the wrong car forum and I don't think anyone here would be sad to see you go

NastyEllEssWon 06-26-2008 03:47 PM

ah...i went to justins house for lunch once...it was nice and everything....just not my cup of tea for a car meet. i guess thats my own misconception that this site was about the cars. guess not. see ya guys at relevant car meets.

you dont have any authority to make that decision

edit: in fact I actually own an fbody..you and yours dont. in reality i have more of a reason to be here than you.

madness410 06-26-2008 03:58 PM

wow guys cut it out hahah. i thought everyone was on this website to get a sense of community. to interact with people who have the same interests as yourself.

if you dont want community, drive a honda. i frequent a honda forum all the time and they are idiots who dont want to do anything but steal eachothers cars, take their parts, sell their parts, and race ANYONE even if its your grandmother in a buick. when i bought a camaro it was a great sense of community when i did

CamaroGirlie 06-26-2008 03:59 PM

I don't need to justify myself to anyone on this bored.....but I have had three different f-bodies in the past, and I currently still do have an f-body. And nobody said Justins lunch bbq was a car meet. He was having friends over for lunch. As was stated earlier by Al, a lot of the active members on this site are close friends.

it used to be like that. when i bought my first 86 camaro the fbod wave was in full swing. every camaro or trans am would wave and even some vette guys. when i got my other 86 a year or so ago i noticed that the fbody community was tainted. stang and honda owners grabbing camaros and not returning the sense of community. thats what i was talking about before...i wanna go and hang out with some fbody people and see what their cars are about or maybe go for a little cruise.

on the other hand

i just moved back from california and have noticed out there when people meet up in a parking lot its a bunch of 'hood up' talk. seriously. whats going on with peoples lives and their kids isnt something im there for. blah. just my 39 cents. i dont care if no one wants to cruise...but no one wants a 'hood up' conversation anymore.

that headgasket party sounded like my type of meet....we need more things like that going on. too bad it never panned out.

no hate in my words...only calm discussion

edit:: i know justins house wasnt a car meet. it was nice though. just not my type of hangout like i said before....justin can grill a good burger though. i still owe him some 5 guys lunch for it.

I guess you need to snap the hell out of it.
A lot of us are great friends with our withotu cars. We still shoot the **** about cars, as most of the stuff we talk about revolve around our cars, our dream cars, a car we saw, a car we raced, or general ****. I have personally gone on rants reguarding cars at work, and for the most part people like my stories.

But dude, I dont know what you want. I dont find it cool to drive around in cars unless its to get to a place to chat and hang with friends.
Again, you dont have to hang out with us, but then again I dont know if we want you here anymore. Maybe its people like you who bring a bad name to our culture?

exactly. a lot of us have become incredibly good friends that goes beyond what each car is made of. I haven't been around a lot because of working an insane amount of hours to get my own business off the ground, but I know that if I called any one of probably the 30 or so members that I have the numbers for they'd help me out with whatever problem I had, whether personal, car related, or just random bsing. This club is about people who come together because of close proximity and common interest, and eventually become friends off the site for other reasons entirely.

Some of the people here I hang out with more than the friends I've known growing up. When you form a bond based on this kind of a common interest, one that can take you outside of the intraweb, out side of your community, as well as outside of your general daily routine, its a stronger friendship than one that was formed simply because you went to high school with someone. There are some incredible people here, and its really nobody elses loss if someone doesn't want to hang out and find out what we're all about.

We laugh together, we cry together, we drink together, and we generally eat together too. And anybody who's seen pictures from our gatherings know we party together quite well. It's a fun group to join, and we don't turn anyone down. Usually, anyhow.

As for scotts comment about our nastyz28 gathering at carlisle.. nastyz is just njfboa spread out throughout the entire US with a median age abotu 10-15 years older. I was so happy I got to stay Friday night this year, that was a lot of fun.

Its sad that its come down to this, but your statement and ideas of a club are absolutely absurd. This club was BUILT by hanging out in parking lots, restaurants, and even peoples houses. If it wasn’t for the friendships many of us have built over the years we would have absolutely nothing, and people would be driving by and not waving. If it wasn’t for those activities you would probably still be driving around wasting an ass load of gas and never actually meeting people who share the same interest as you. I have been with this site for nearly 4 years now, & have invested my fair share of energy, time & money and still it pales in comparison to what Justin & Tim have gone through to bring us this club. I have made some of my best friends through this site and have met countless other amazing people who I would do absolutely as much as I possibly could for. It started with a common interest and involved to something I can’t even begin to explain. This club has such a diverse community of people from every walk of life who wouldn’t want to get to know them? I myself am the type of person who likes to go out and experience new things. I hate monotonous things like driving around aimlessly. If just wanting to drive around and race isn’t anti-social I don’t know what else is. How are you going to talk about cars when your to busy driving them? The people who cared got out there, we contributed, organized & drove all over the state to meet random names from a forum. I’ve had some of the best times of my life with people from this club, and 99.9% of the time it was unrelated to our cars because I got out there and talked.

Obviously you have the wrong idea about this site, and it would be probably in your best interests to just leave.
