if you do, fridays before 9. they are a restaurant as well. its two stories, upstairs being the crazy younger crowd, downstairs being the laid back older crowd with live music usually. both stories with shuffleboard, hard to get on the table at first but always fun. oh and they close at 11:30 so an after spot or another bar is necessary, unless you want to go chill on the beach

No casino's till you get to AC.
Lots of bars, clubs, and generally nice things to do. Red Bank has a lot of nice places. Pt.Pleasent or Seaside would be another place to go if you are looking for boardwalk fun. Keyport also has some stuff, but not nearly as nice as Pt.Pleasent nor as big as Seaside. |
And this is Jersey water we are talking about, unless you plan on scrubbing realllll well, I would be hesitant about swimming in any river.....
|
LBI is sweet too, if you gonna hit up AC. And there is Deal casino.....

P.S. I would love to go to AC but I think that's too much driving for one day. |
seaside is just disease jumbled up. id stay away from diseaseside heights.
if your into cars atco and englishtown are open. google raceway park englishtown nj or atco raceway atco nj on the weekends you can partake in a little bit more of our redneck side and head on up to new egypt (15 minutes down 537 from freehold mall). they have a dirt track and the locals run their outlaw machines down there. always lots of fun. if your up for a little bit more of a ride you can head down philly. lots of awesomeness there. great cheesesteaks...great shopping (for the gf) lots of awesome old sites and you can do what everyone else does....run your ass up the steps of the philadelphia art moozaaaam  hell the art mooozam  is an awesome place to visit too...if your into that sort of thing. lots of different things for different people in the immediate areas. ive just been there and done that everywhere in nj that its all kinda blah to me. |

Well,
You could hit Raceway Park in Englishtown (Night Of Thrills). There's Midievel Times in Lyndhurst. There's plenty of poolhalls around. One place in Redbank I like going is called "The Melting Pot" a fondue resturaunt... You could hit Movie Theatre's or even just look on this board for any meets. Hope that helps man. |

Bars/clubs there are lots of places, though not as many as even a few years ago. Leggets (217 First Avenue 08736) in Manasquan used to be a good place to go, Jenkinsons in Point on the boardwalk is ok, kind of big though - I like Martell's down the boardwalk more. The Norwood Inn in Avon (618 2nd Ave 07717) can be fun on the right night, as can the The Sandbar in Brielle (201 Union Lane 08730). I hear the Boathouse on Main St in Belmar is pretty good. BA is on 16th in Belmar near the train tracks - another big bar. Then there is the Headliner on Rt 35 in Neptune Some good eating: Murphy Grill - 26 Broad Street Red Bank 07701 Barnacle Bill's - 1 1st Street Rumson 07760 Kelly's - 3 Route 35N Neptune 07753 Rod's - 507 Washington Blvd. Sea Girt 08750 Maria's - good Italian - 165 Main St Manasquan 08736 Mariner's Cove - the best omlettes ever - 712 Union Ave in Brielle, NJ 08730 Harrigan's Pub - 703 Baltimore Blvd (rt 71), Sea Girt, NJ 08750 I'll add some more as I think of them. |

Thank you. Thank you very little. LOL If I still lived there I'd take you on a tour. Here is a good night: Italian at Maria's 6-ish, do the boardwalk in Point, all the stupid crap, mini-golf, games, etc. Then drinks (many) outside at Martells. Can't go wrong on a nice night. If you are so inclined, Allaire State Park is in Wall. You can blow a few daylight hours there if you like parks and such. Another place is the Circus Drive-In in Wall on rt 35. Best grease in town, no doubt. |

I wish Reggies & The Tropical Pub were still open. I think I had my own stool at Reggies. Vinnie the bartender ruled. As did Karen, who last I saw her was selling Hondas for Coast Honda.
