I'll bring some Ballentine to the BBQ and then make you drink it.

LS1Hawk 07-17-2008 03:50 PM

I had noticed.

Only people who served in WW2 are allowed to drink Ballentine.

Pabst doesnt own any breweries anymore? Did anybody see that special on Discovery channel I think it was maybe last summer where they went to the old Pabst brewery and toured it. It was pretty damn cool looking. I forget what show that was, they just went around to old abandoned places and filmed it and talked about the history.

How about some KNICKERBOCKER? Try to find some of those bottles around. Interesting New York beer. Or Miller HighLife!

Pabst closed their last brewery in 2001. There's an old Pabst brewery in Newark that closed a long time ago. It had the big beer bottle on the roof. Sucks I missed that special though. Would be cool to see.

And it figures that Pabst owns all of the crap US beers (seeing as how it's the only big US beer manufacturer left).

Here's some of their list

Pabst Blue Ribbon
Schafer
Black Label
Colt 45
Schmidt
Old Milwaukee
Schlitz
Ballentine
Piels
Stroh's

Although I actually like Black Label. A fantastic Beer Pong beer @ 10.90 a case and it actually tastes decent.

Actually, Pabst just reintroduced Schlitz's classic 1960s formula in the brown bottles, which is how Schlitz was made when it was a #1 selling beer. It's supposed to be more full-bodied than what we currently get in the cans. They've only introduced it in Chicago, Milwaukee, and I think Minneapolis so far. But it's selling like liquid gold, bars and stores can't keep it in stock.

Well, that's cool news. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Here's a pretty cool ad they've been running...can you tell I'm a Schlitz fan? lol. The new website is schlitzgusto.com.
