Your's look pretty good, but they are only 2272x1704. Make sure your camera is on the highest setting. Images at that size won't print as well.

cool cool. i'm in the process of sending two that are 3888x2592. they are 5MB and 5.2MB. i'll send the jpg's but i could get canon raw's off my camera if that would be better???

79CamaroDiva 09-03-2008 08:50 PM

jpg is fine, sending a raw unfortunately wouldn't do any good when we send it to the printer that we use.

Just to clear things up in case there is any confusion: People who had their car in our first calendar 2 years ago are allowed to submit pics for the calendar this year. We are only trying to keep the same car out of the calendar 2 years in a row.

if i stretch my picture out to those requirements it looks horrid..... is it supposed to go from nice to ****** at those sizes?

ar0ck 09-08-2008 01:13 PM

Shouldn't have to stretch them, if you are then that probably means your camera isn't capable of those sizes.

yeah, you shouldnt have to stretch it. What program are you using? if you right click on the file, just make sure that in the dimensions of the picture are AT LEAST that size. you don't have to make them that size, that's what we do.

BTW, all cameras 6mp and higher should be able to take something this file size. even 5 mp on the highest setting is probably ok (i can't remember exactly off the top of my head)

chemicalstylez 09-08-2008 06:20 PM

Mine camera is only 4MP.... i'll take a picture and send it anyway, see how it looks eh?

79CamaroDiva 09-08-2008 06:32 PM

yeah, you can send it. even if it ends up not looking good full size, chances are good it will end up somewhere in the calendar :)

It bugs me most of my pictures come out to 2592x1944. I just looked this moment and finally figured out that the biggest my camera will take is 3072x2304. I wish i would have known this since the day i got it. because if there is any chance that any of my pictures can be a big picture then when made at 2592x1944 the qualitly wont look as good as 3072x2304 :hammer: :banghead:  o well.

I think it's actually 7 megapixels and up, with most 6 megapixel cams turning in good enough shots. At least my S3 IS is a 6 MP and doesn't shoot at the required resolution, but still takes usable pics.

If you can get more at the higher resolution in the next 2 weeks, then go for it. We'll take more pics from you....

I'll have to figure something out. To bad none of the picutres i already sent in could have been full size. I finally figured out how to use the menu of the camera and i see large size and i couldnt believe i actually had that size.

NastyEllEssWon 09-09-2008 02:53 AM

i reuploaded my pics from my digicam. its a 5mp cam and the largest i can get was 2848 x 2144. my digi cam has since broke. might be time for a new one.
sent the photos anyway, hopefully theyre close enough to use.

I still have all the pics you gave me last year, so we can use one of them for filler if you want. I can also email you the high-res pics that you sent me so you have some of them back.

Justin,

I just wanted to know if my pics reached you and if they are too large or correct size? Just checking.

Yes, I got them Don. When it comes to the calendar, there is no such thing as too large. Yours, unfortunately, are too small to be considered for a feature. We might use one for "filler" though.

Generally, you'll need to submit pics that were taken by a 7 (or higher) megapixel digital camera that was set on the highest resolution.

- Justin

DaSkinnyGuy 09-14-2008 11:01 AM

I sent more in. This time they are the biggest size my camera could take. 8-)

Or you could hire the friendly website photographer!

My schedule is still free and its not to late to squeeze in a shoot!

Yes....this is prolly the easiest way to get shots submitted for the calendar with no question of whether they are good enough or large enough....
