honestly matt, you might have a hard time getting a loan from a bank. these are hard times right now and barely anyone is lending out money, let alone to a youngin like yourself. i'm not sayin you can't afford it or you can or should, but consider the difficulty of obtaining a loan before making any rash decisions with your current transportation situation.

+1 a high school kid with zero credit history and really no income history to speak of is not geting a car loan right now. And we see how co-signor deals work out.

You should put that money into your Firebird. If you build the engine properly there is no reason why it can't function as a DD. Gas mileage isn't an issue if you were going to get another V8 in your next car anyway.

I actually went to commerce a day ago to look at a loan for a commuter car, the interest is 12.49% and thats with a personal loan, they wont give out a car loan to a car that any older than a 2003.

I didnt read everyones post but maybe my little bit of information will show you now is not the best time
