The track was perfectly fine. Goodyear, once again, brought a crap tire.....guys have been complaining about right rears all week, and it all came to a head yesterday when Newman popped one and took out himself and Tony Stewart, forcing them both into backup cars for today.

Is there something inherently unsafe about going around a dry racing surface that wasn't a problem last week, last month, or last year?

LTb1ow 02-15-2009 04:29 PM

Getting dizzy?

I'm not watching (at work w/o TV) but it sounds like Vickers came down on him.

****ing earnhardt takes out half the field and they wont dare give him a penalty

yesterday leffler did that **** and got a 5 lap penalty, give one to jr too nascar

NJSPEEDER 02-15-2009 04:50 PM

Vickers caused that accident. That block was wwwaaayayyyyyyy late and completely uncalled for.

By the wording of the rule Jr. is indeed at fault for not "blending" back in safely, but Vickers really started the problem.

I still question this idea of "out of bounds", if you don't want them to drive there DON'T PAVE IT!!!!

vickers blocked the "yellow lines" and instead of backing off and coming back up legally, he turned right and took vickers and half the field out

Mike 02-15-2009 04:51 PM

the entire move would have been below the out of bounds line that YOU bitched about tim...

BurninrubberGT 02-15-2009 04:54 PM

i officially love jr
vickers needed that, you block like that, your getting wrecked, plus its a little payback from when vickers wrecked jr on the last lap at talladega
and he took out the toyota's, sucks that mcmurray got caught in it though

and does anyone else think dw is way too for toyota, its annoying

and i want to correct my other post-
200mph+goodyear tires=disaster

edit: busch is a little prick

NJ346 02-15-2009 04:54 PM

he took out his teammate too, reasoning for that one?

your post couldnt be any more typical btw.

LTb1ow 02-15-2009 05:00 PM

You can block?

NJSPEEDER 02-15-2009 05:03 PM

Yes, NASCAR uses the "one move" rule.

baddest434 02-15-2009 05:22 PM

well JR is my favorite driver but i gotta say that sure looked like he caused that crash.

NJSPEEDER 02-15-2009 05:26 PM

I doubt it was intentional, but that is of course what a lot of people are going to say. Really, drivers don't spend a lot of time in the car worrying about pay back or anything else.

It is compounded by the fact that it is really really hard to see out of these cars. There are tubes and pads going in every direction and the seats are set vry very low.

Did Jr. cause the contact, yes. Was it his intention, I strongly doubt it.

I place more of the blame on the late block that created the situation. Legal or not, throwing a late block is just asking for trouble.

baddest434 02-15-2009 05:51 PM

oh no RAIN!! i'd hate to see it end this way especially w/48 laps to go.

NJ346 02-15-2009 05:56 PM

what a great ending.:rollseye:

NJSPEEDER 02-15-2009 05:59 PM

ehhhh, If they started the race at 1 instead of starting the hours of prerace BS they would have gotten it in.

Tru2Chevy 02-15-2009 06:03 PM

They pushed the start time back a few years ago for a "more exciting finish under the lights"
