So can I borrow your car to make my car feel faster?

BonzoHansen 08-17-2009 10:21 AM

I did not do that. Although I am quite amused.

LT1's aren't really that hard to work on, just gotta concentrate on what your doing, and stay calm, i know something like headers is a difficult job, but my experiences havent been that bad to say i hate them

I wish I had a 12 sec car, then I could think my saturn was slow.

What? You could practically disassemble an entire ls1 car with a 8, 10, and 15mm wrench.

So as LT... but if you try doing cam,oil pump, timing chain/sprox(in the car)... LT is little bit easier.

Gonna have to disagree... LT1 M6 car is impossible to drop pan with motor in car... A4 is no walk in the park either...

No. LT1's are put together with standard sizes. And there is the opti in the way when doing a cam swap.

I did that when I put the headers in...not a problem. Just take all the emissions crap off and it's a walk in the park.

Easy! just did it few weeks ago. raise motor and 6 bolts to lover the k-member.... same as LS.
can't say anything about A4.. never worked on A4 LT.

LTb1ow 08-17-2009 05:38 PM

Well an LS1 you can just yank timing cover and voila swap pumps.

I used 10mm(if I remember right) on timing cover and OPTI. OPTI only 3 bolts and its out. piece a cake. 8-)

No. (if you talking about oil pump...) you need to take oil pan to gain access to oil pick up to oil pump bolts.

Yea, IDK, not my ball field... LS1 land is a strange place... piston slapping and what not...

Same here. But you won't win. They will just make fun of you and your slow car.

You didn't get the point. I'm not trying to win. I'm not claiming that I have fast car.. (I have Hayabusa for that, i'll race ANY LT,LS, what ever, with it)
All I'm saying is that I love my LT1 and i'm proud of it.. even though its piece of junk.. so as LS

My LT1 had piston slap:moon:
I've owned both and have done extensive work on both LS & LT engines. Hands down the LS motor is easier to work on  My H/C swap only took 7 hours on my LS1. I cant say the same thing for my LT1. I loved my LT1 but I didnt deny the fact that the LS motor was a better design and easier to work on.

Flame On LS1 Haters :rollseye:
