if you're selling the '72, i know a buyer.

no. no fixing needed, steel WHEELS with hubcaps are different than the 17'' aluminum WHEELS on the other 2 pictures. but they are both WHEELS

LTb1ow 08-25-2009 01:30 PM

So what does this entail with the other car(s) that are dead and broken in your driveway(s)?

BigAls87Z28 08-25-2009 02:08 PM

Mike, meghan and I have 17s.
Jim you know someone who wants to buy?

So the 87 will be going back into hibernation for 10 years?

BigAls87Z28 08-25-2009 07:32 PM

ahahah, well maybe not that long. LS1 swap is still on track unless something major comes up.

Whats funny is on my way down there, the trans started to fail, and got stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear, so I was spinning at 4500rpm at 65mph. Not good at all.
I calculated the cost of trans replacement, adding a cat, replacing teh horn and making that work, plus everything else....it was about a year's payment towards a new car.

Congrats!

LS1Hawk 08-25-2009 08:48 PM

Congrats, man. Considering one of those myself in the future, but will probably wait to see what the next generation Malibu will look like.

Teds89IROC 08-25-2009 08:52 PM

congrats Al! Sharp looking car, I've been a fan.

Talks from the people that came out of the GM Design stuidos a few weeks ago say its very Camaro esque in the D pillar/rear quarter area. Even has Camaro esque tail lights.
A lot of the new Chevy interiors have also had been influenced by Camaro's dual pod guage design. Equinox and Traverse both have a similar design.
Malibu will be around 2012/2013ish.

Nice, they should bring back the malibu ss. maybe with a supercharger or something of that effect..

BigAls87Z28 08-26-2009 10:40 AM

Probably either the DI 3.6 or turbo 2.8.

Yeah, I read that from press that have seen it they said it's a show stopper. Right now I'm in love with the new LaCrosse and if the funds are there I'd go for that. But this current Malibu is a very good car, so I can only imagine the 2012/2013 will be even beeter.

79CamaroDiva 08-26-2009 03:32 PM

Congrats! Did you get the full $4500 C4C? how much were you able to talk them down?

baddest434 08-26-2009 04:29 PM

congrats BigAl.

Yes, full 4500 plus 1500 rebate, got it down to 20k, rolled tax, tags, reg into the loan, 0% for 72 months...yeah, not bad at all.
