I know there have been successful Linux installations on the iPhone and 1st gen iPod touch, but I haven't followed it much.

because you have to use it to push the music from the PC to device..... looking for mass storage compliance methods, unless they have changed the whole usage and I can drag and drop.... :shrug:

^^You can drag and drop on i-tunes you just need to set your i-pod to manage music manually in the options.

He doesn't want iTunes though. He's looking for a simple drag and drop interface without all the unneeded crap that iTunes has. Just like you would have on a thumb drive that's plugged into your computer.
