Buy LS1 car, rip out crap LS1, install 383 LT1. Win.

go get a 3.4 roller, or something, it would take some time, but you already have the necessary hardware, oh and the way he hit, make sure he didnt shear the wiring harness that runs acrossthe front.

well the motor was running after the accident.

and i really would like to swap it in a LS body, but isnt that a lot of work?

LTb1ow 09-23-2009 01:16 PM

New K member at the least.

Saitin 09-23-2009 01:23 PM

not that much work aslong as your parts are good, did you not report the engine work to the insurance company?
As soon as i got my now motor in that is one of the first things I did was take all receipts to the insurance company and have them cover it.

Tsar 09-23-2009 01:25 PM

Looks like daddy owns you a new vehicle.

NastyEllEssWon 09-23-2009 02:10 PM

i know where you can find an ls1 car to replace it with.........sucks that happened though man. 1/4 panels are expensive to have replaced. at least a grand or two

Miles 09-23-2009 02:36 PM

insurance companies are funny sometimes...but they probably will call it a total. then do what everyone else is doing... 98-02 v6 swap with your 383

hey i have a 94 v6 maro. $700. it runs but the motor and trans have alot of miles. great for swapping a motor into. body has a few flaws but nothing thats major

69BirdX 09-23-2009 04:21 PM

OUCH that sucks man sorry about the car

Tru2Chevy 09-23-2009 04:22 PM

Glad to hear that your dad is ok. Fully expect the insurance company to total it. You can either buy it back, fix it, and get it re-inspected to get rid of the salvage title, or just buy it back and rank the good parts.

Alternatively, you might try showing the insurance company your pile of receipts and see if they will fix it. They probably won't, but I have heard of some instances where it has happened.

sorry for your loss, and hopefully i can help you out

BigRocsFirebird 09-23-2009 05:10 PM

wow sorry to hear this. at least everyone is ok. but when i first saw the title i was thinkng about the crash that just happend right outside my neighborhood. i think it was a police chase and the cop car rolled over it was bad.

transmaro93 09-23-2009 05:28 PM

damn man... glad no one was seriously hurt... but what a wacky looking hit.... the way that the fender is buldging id almost garantee there is radiator support and appron/headlight bucket damage... deff some structurural damage in the front there on top of what you see... if the rear was bad they would prob put a used one it and that wouldnt be to expensive... the 1/4 as said is expensive to replace especially on fbodys they are extra PITA..... its probably goint to total... id buy it back and get a doner car for the body and part the rest out... P.S. if he hit the wall hard enough to sheer the axel right off and crack the rotor and stuff there is probably some unibody damage under the car from the shifting rear.... just some stuff to take into consideration.... again sorry this happened... but who knows sometimes good things come out of bad situations..... just think positive man...
