You guys are only talking about the TBI motor that were installed in pick up trucks also. What about the TPI cars? The later years,91-92, ran low 14's out of the factory. I have seen stock LT1's run the same time. I knew someone w/ a bolt on IROC, 5.7 TPI run low 13's and w/ a shot of nitrous low to mid 11's. So,again, why do 3rd gens suck?
Also we are all F-body owners. Why does it seem if you don't own a 4th gen or 1st to early 2nd gen your car is crap!

You are all wrong, if you don't drive a 4th gen you are in the wrong.

And if you hadn't caught on... I am arguing for arguments sake.

your such a hater. and your boat slow as hell

I'll take my turdgen over any LT1 4thgen ANY day of the week and twice on Sunday's. The only exception "might" be a 96-97 SS...for some reason I just love them.

My car isn't anything special but I also don't have a complex about it...I could brag about it(omgz, can haz supercharger) but I'm not a douche(well at least about that  ).

I miss my TBI 91 bird .... and my GTA (digital dash, telescoping headrests).... :(

most people are just jealous because they dont have a 3rd gen.

get ready for your ttops to leak my car came as a hard top and the original owner got the ttops put it and they leak of course but i have all new wheather stripping for them and be careful of cracking in the body of the car twisting cause of not really any good support from the top of the car your gunna have to get sub frame connectors. and yea my moms 92 rs had a 305 and it was slowwwwwwwwww

Sounds like a personal problem. T-top or hard top, if the weather stripping is old, it's GOING to leak. My '88 T/A hard top leaked way more than my current '85 T/A t-top does.

Everyone's comparing the speed of a vehicle with 18-28 year old engines to 8-18 year old engines... for the most part, you're going to see an improvement as newer models come out, hands-down (with the exception of LT1's... lol). I left a stock 350 second gen in the dust with my '88... big whoop. Since a majority of forum members drive 4th gens, the 3rd gens are seen as slow, and 2nd and 1st gens are just old classics.

Wait a couple years for a few more 5th gen camaro owners to show up... then you 4th gen owners will be the snails in the group. Us third-gen'ers can go hang with the 2nd and 1st gens :-P

It's all a matter of perception.

now now, i wouldnt say my 78 is SLOW, i beat a 305 3rd gen with my worn little 350 lol, but...she isnt that fast lol although i figure something as simple as long tube headers duel exhaust with an x pipe should help out alot lol

Ive gone 15.7 with CAI, 4:10, aluminum D/S , A/C delete, and the rest is suspension. Oh did I mention I suck at any type of drag racing, get a good driver in there, and I'm sure it may scoot a little faster down the lane ;)

Not that its impressive but ive definately heard of those 3800 fbods cracking 15's stock...

Blacdout96 01-15-2010 03:21 PM

give the right situation you could. It would probably take a Y87 packaged Camaro to pull that off wiht a really good driver, but it could be done.
