Not about just the car. That price buys something completely different.

everyone has their own thing they like but the only way i would buy that iroc is if i had a museum with a bunch of other cars that were never going to see the road.

And I'd bet a guy like that is who bought it.

MyFirstZ 01-14-2010 09:12 PM

never felt that an autograph is worth anything. O well. Def. nice though

Frosty 01-14-2010 09:36 PM

Needs a Maaco spray bomb job. :D

I was rolling my eyes reading through the ad with the "probably" word used a few times...yeah "probably" doesn't sell a $275K car...then I saw the signatures and was like shaaaawiiiiing.

Not my cup of tea but that's pretty impressive.

LTb1ow 01-14-2010 10:49 PM

A third gen with signatures, cool?

Still a lame third gen.

Even the late '80's GTA, which were the HOTTEST F-Body you could buy then do not get prices above that (in Mint Condition). If you owned one of those during that time period, you were King of the Hill in terms of performance and looks. lol you're the last person i thought we'd hear from about overpriced thirdgens

It was mentioned in the ad that they clear coated it after it was signed. Guess reading isn't your fav five =p

Pretty cool collectible and not really a car anymore. I'd think something like this would be in the original Hard Rock Cafe or some place like that to be on display.

Actually it's only a 305, the 350 wasn't available in the IROC until '87.

Wolfblitz 01-15-2010 11:29 AM

If we all kick in $110 a piece, we can buy it lol

orly? just the same as you couldnt get a factory 5 speed with a 350tpi but they exist. there are 85 and 86 350 tpi's out there

I would not open that can of worms. There is a LOT that's involved in proving that something was truly factory vs. hearsay.

:bs: Show me a FACTORY 85 Fbody and a L98/B2L RPO code or ANY FACTORY L98/T5 thirdgen....everyone seems to know someone who had one or knows a cousin's, roommates, dentist who talked to a guy who knew a drug dealer that had one. I've been involved in turdgens for over 12yrs now and have debunked EVERY single L98/T5 claim. I've yet to see an RPO sheet that shows that combo.

Even then it can still be a fraud.

NastyEllEssWon 01-15-2010 12:34 PM

ive seen it personally with my own eyes. it belonged to a guy out in cream ridge...he had it for sale awhile back. 1985 camaro iroc, ttops, 350 tpi and factory 5 speed. had the rpo sheet right in the console. pity i dont have pics.

That is a pity. That would be 1/10th of what is acutally involved in proving something like this to be true.

Frosty 01-15-2010 12:37 PM

Sorry man, it's not that I'm saying you're lying but to not only take the phantom combo of a L98/T5 but to throw in that it's an '85 when the only documentation was a few test mules in '86...I don't know....

NastyEllEssWon 01-15-2010 12:40 PM

lol i still know where the guy lives....think it would be a little rude to knock on his door asking him questions about it 5 years later ???
