There's really no shortage of good places to go. I usually only go ethnic or steak in NYC, though. As far as American, any of the diners would be fine. Junior's is pretty good. http://www.juniorscheesecake.com/ Click on the "restaraunts" section. |
Lemon Grass Grill has amazing Thai food if you like that. Another good place to look at is Mustang Sally's or something like that. It's a block or two south of MSG on 7th Ave around 31st St or so. If the time you go is right before an event at MSG, it might be crowded though. If you're looking for a really nice upscalish but not too pricey place, look at Compass. It's around 71st and Amsterdam. They have great steaks. There used to be an amazing place on Columbus and like 68th called Diane's, but it closed down a few years ago, they had the best burgers on Earth. If you're looking for Mediterranean cuisine for a good price and a nice environment, there's a place around 40th and 1st. I'll have to look up the name. The one thing I would suggest keeping in mind is that if you plan on going to dinner anywhere between 6 and 7:30pm on any night, that's the theater and Lincoln Center crowd time and the places will be crowded and booked solid. This applies to all the restaurants on Columbus from 60th up to 72nd St. and all the places around Times Square.

GEZZZZZZ Time Square is not the real NYC just a bunch of lights and cheap restaurants (I mean quality) i am born and raised in the village (west 10 street) plus i drive the limo buses and see people make the same tourist mistake all the time .. if you want to get a sense of the city and have a good time make your way down town (soho area (west Broadway spring street as an example)
Walk around from there.. This area has tons of great restaurants/ live entertainment and people..) I would walk around check out the menus etc all the crap in time square is just that cookie cutter restaurants not worth the 30+ person price tag for food . |
i would recommend that forrest gump restaurant in times square also...if you like the movie its a cool place to go, prices werent so bad, and the food was good...if i remember correctly they served more than just seafood there.
good idea staying away from applebees and stuff i went there and paid 16$ for a quesadilla burger i could have gotten for 8 back home lol |
