Yeah some of the colors arent bad at all, the black and red one is much, with red in all the wrong places.

While the Z28 will most likely out-do the GT500, this car will go untouched.
Sad..very sad. Its not too late for Chevrolet to do a 180 on naming the SC Camaro "Z28" and calling it ZL1 or something.

Z28 could be all the fun parts of the "ZL1" into a regular, retuned, lightened up SS.

Like what they did with the GS Vette they came out with, that would be neat. a bigger brake package, remove the rear seat, add the cage like they put in the LS mustang, and hello Trans Am wars of the 21st century...too bad Dodge forgot how to make a muscle car, and ended up making reproduction sherman tanks, but they named them Challangers for some odd reason.

I want a new C6 GS so bad I can taste it. I need to either hit the lottery or start selling crystal meth.

Saw one in a parking lot today. Very sharp.

Blacdout96 08-21-2010 01:55 PM

Saw one at laguna, red with silver fender stripes. I paid no attention until I saw the rear brakes and front, look good, would look better on the Camaro ( Camaro Walkins Glen edition?)

 question is, what is the paint scheme, and hopefully a better combo then red/black

I'd take it blue/yellow rims, or a blue paint with two yellow stripes on the fenders and black rims/yellow rims. Al, call some one upstairs in the product dept. and tell them to punch this out STAT!

EDIT: can we get a 4.8 block, bore/stroke it out to 5.0, and make it aluminum kthanxbye. :)

I'm telling you, trans am is gonna come back!!

BigAls87Z28 08-21-2010 04:21 PM

A penskie edition camaro would be awesome. Make it a special edition to the real Z28.

They should make a ZL1 edition. However, I think they should price the ZL1 between the SS and the Z28 and put a detuned LS7 in it. My .02

This completely misses the point of the original ZL1...

BigAls87Z28 08-21-2010 11:34 PM

I would make the Camaro mimic the Corvette line up.

Corvette base : Camaro V6 all the stuff you want in the car with no frills
Corvette GS : Camaro SS power and performance taken up a notch
Corvette Z06 : Camaro Z28 track star
Corvette ZR1 : Camaro ZL1 super car

[QUOTE=maroman88;723702]mustang looks like its confused with a riced out civic paint job..

I agree it misses the point of the original ZL1, but the same could be said the new Z28.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my last post.

I completely agree that the Camaro should follow the Corvette pricing/performance model. I'm suggesting that if Z06 "track star" has a 7.0 N/A motor then the Camaro should receive a similar High Horsepower Naturally aspirated trim package, between the SS and Supercharged models. Name it what you want SS-427, H.O., ZL1, Z28.....doesn't make any difference to the average enthusiast....we just want options.

BigAls87Z28 08-22-2010 12:48 PM

I think just a small tweek of the LS3 to 450-460hp would be more then enough. And in the numbers they will produce, wont damage the CAFE numbers.
Z28 should be something weighting as much as a V6 Camaro, with more power then the SS, and the handling and brakes of the upper Camaro.
Maybe get a hand-built unit like whats in the Corvette GS and have dry-sump...but we are talking about a decent amount of money now.

and detract from vette sales?! GM doesn't care about us that much.

BigAls87Z28 08-22-2010 12:50 PM

Corvette sales are not going to be botherd.

Blacdout96 08-23-2010 01:38 AM

Yes, corvette fan boys will not be fazed, even if the camaro has more of an appeal to be driven then left sitting in a climate controlled garage :)

CamaroFTW 08-23-2010 09:29 AM

i just can't wait to see the z/28 hit the floor :)
