Yes and no. I was hardcore for the first 2 weeks of January, then I got mad sick and have been sitting on my ass bored out of my mind. I'm still sick but hitting the gym again this week because I'm going crazy.

If you give me your email I can send you my workout spreadsheet I made - it includes everything except my running, which I just do a lot of. I will say cardio is probably the biggest aspect of the race - some strength helped at certain events with crawling and stuff but overall endurance is far more important. Smash-like strength is not necessary anywhere on the course

Also there's another one officially being announced for Tri-State at Englishtown again in November coming shortly.

Workout spreadsheet?

I was just wondering what kind of shape you guys were going to be in if we're moving as a group.

Pretty sure you are a good to go mr. kenya, just try to make it more than a mile before your old body falls apart.

Gonna do a 5k tmmr, pending snow.

Thats a fancy stationary bicycle if it tells you how many imaginary meters you've gone.

Nah I bring my TI89 and it converts it all for me while I run.

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-31-2011 10:23 PM

Nah, it'll just mean you'll be dead earlier

Yeah it's set up for the different days and divided so you can write down the reps/weights you do for each. I print it out and take it with me to the gym. I'm a business major, I need things organized and in spreadsheet form

We have sort of a mix but all of us played sports until College and still do stuff. Myself and 3 others are the same ones who did the Etown one last year, we are pretty close. No idea what shape the girl is in I haven't seen her in like 6 months. We have an Army ROTC kid but he tends to talk big so not sure about him either.

What I do is just cover the time/distance thing with my hoodie and just run for a long time lol. I have asthma so my lung capacity sucks, but I was talking to someone else who had it and ran a lot, and they suggested asking my doctor about using the inhaler to open up my lungs to normal person capacity for when I exercise. I usually aim for a 6.5 mph pace for an hour or so. I'm going to start trying to do more of a mix of speeds since that's what happened at the last TM.

How long did it take you to finish the Etown one? I think thats was 12 miles compared to the 9 in this one....

2 hrs 57 min but walking the last 3 miles because one of us had recently quit smoking. Our goal for this race is 2 hours - it's shorter but involves 30% grades, and we want to push more. It was also our first endurance thing of any kind so we had no idea what to expect. Not to mention no matter what shape you are in, you can't do things like crawl through mud at 6 mph to maintain a steady pace

KirkEvil 02-01-2011 11:48 AM

Do the obstacles get backed up with people or is there always a steady pace with room to pass people?

sweetbmxrider 02-01-2011 11:51 AM

Someone should wear a GoPro chesty!

The only one that was backed up and you couldn't pass last time was the jumping into the lake one, and the monkey bars.

The cliffhanger there was a crowd but we flew by them up the side.

My buddy Dave is thinking of getting one, but I think you should come to get action shots

sweetbmxrider 02-01-2011 12:49 PM

If the pals wanna car pool, I'll ride up with them.

Anti_Rice_Guy 02-19-2011 04:15 PM

Less than 50 days! And we're now girl-less except for Matt - our original girl now has grad school stuff on the same day as TM

sweetbmxrider 02-20-2011 09:10 AM

Well I was gunna go to take pics but **** that!

KirkEvil 02-20-2011 05:02 PM

Hey Nick, do you have a link to the cross training shoes you were talking about?

Anti_Rice_Guy 02-20-2011 08:06 PM

http://www.footlocker.com/product/mo...TnDdMensAdidas

First one that came up when I googled. Adidas Kanadia TR3 is the style. Comfy as hell, dry quick, amazing traction.

KirkEvil 03-30-2011 10:36 PM

Looking at the list of teams and start times and by far, the best team name there...

"The Couch Pulls Out, But We Dont"

sweetbmxrider 03-31-2011 07:25 AM

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-31-2011 09:50 AM

Some people get the team names or slogans printed on their shirts, so you'll get a good laugh while walking around the pits and running the course too

"Here for beer" is one that you'll see a lot.

LTb1ow 03-31-2011 10:54 AM

Yea, fml.

Anti_Rice_Guy 04-05-2011 04:26 PM

3 days, 18hours, 14 min until showtime

sweetbmxrider 04-05-2011 04:32 PM
