This.

Your gf will like Ninja NY, unless she hates Japanese food. The restaurant is styled after a Ninja dungeon and everything is themed after it. I haven't met a woman who hated the place, yet. You will have to take a cab down town though. Nobu next door is also nice (also doesn't require a month in advance reservations unlike Nobu..).

redsoxsstink 04-26-2011 10:28 PM

i dont want to spend 60 bucks on dinner, thats breaking the bank. ps we are 18 so we cant drink. we've been to jons by time square and liked it but we like trying new places

Tsar 04-27-2011 05:43 AM

Less than 60 bucks for two (including tip), in Manhattan? Um... Perhaps Bonzo has ideas.

qwikz28 04-27-2011 07:15 AM

pizza

Mike 04-27-2011 07:34 AM

get a snack there and go somewhere nice when you get home? your 60 bucks would most likely go a LOT further in your area than in nyc

In NYC? That will barely pay my bar bill. Street vendors FTW!

sweetbmxrider 04-27-2011 07:43 AM

I spent 10 bucks at the diner 3 blocks from javitz center  Good chicken parm!

redsoxsstink 04-27-2011 08:48 AM

obviously 60 isnt the be all end all i do have more money than that. like i said we cant drink so drink bills are irrelevant. and the 60 that came up in my head wasnt including a tip. maybe we will just go back to the same place we went last time

Look around on Yelp and Timeout NY for good cheap eats. They exist. Pay the coin for a taxi, and get something unique instead of fancy. I've had good eats in Manhattan on the cheap before, a place called S'mac comes to mind. If you have a car there, drive out to BK and get some grub in Williamsburg or Park Slope. It's much cheaper, and they have some interesting stuff. If its nice, take a stroll.

I'm in grad school with barely any income, and I live in Queens for now. I used to go out often and rarely spent more than $20 on a meal. Drinks on the other hand is another story.

Raist103 04-27-2011 02:21 PM

what kind of camera did you use to get such good lighting?

Just my rebel xti with a couple quick lenses. Some shots have an external flash as well but most don't. I also shot wide open for the most part and varied the ISO to compensate for some darker areas. There is a good amount of lighting on most of the cars though.
