I'm quite looking forward to a nice hurricane as long my cars and house stays damage free. A nice drive to the shore mid hurricane sounds like a safe and well thought out plan!

Oh, you didn't stock up on 6 gallons of milk/ 12 loves of bread/ 6 dozen eggs/ 48 sheets of plywood/ 48 rolls of toilet paper/ 24 packs of AA batteries and a blow-up doll of Megan Fox!

Don't expect looting in my area but just in case, I will have a few...ahem....deterrents to kindly ask them to consider another home.

Frosty 08-26-2011 06:31 PM

I was witness to 2 fat black ladies literally fighting over a gallon of water in Walmart yesterday. Literally throwing fists while trying to hold on to the water they were fighting over with one hand. I was so close to peeing myself with laughter.

Wow, they're predicting the Delaware river to come up 20-22 feet from where it is right now. We're not even at a normal low summer level so this could get ugly. I pulled the boat out today and took the dock apart. I would guess about 1/3 of the boats were pulled out today so quite a few people are going to be fighting with boat and docks on a raging river. My boat has no bilge pump so it's a no brainer for me to pull it out. The pontoon boat guys don't have to worry about the rain like I do but the high river will cause problems. I think the power outages along with the flooding will be the biggest problems, but 9-12 hours of steady wind with a wet ground will cause lots of trees to be uprooted even if it's not 100 mph winds.

i like this guy more and more everyday:mrgreen:

as for the hurricane, not so much worried abt it, coastal towns should be worried but inland it just seems like wind and rain. not trees around our house and we arent in a flood zone so not really scared. just fueled up the generator so good in that area as well

Yup, my primary is a G23 and a G19 for backup... Been thinking about a compact for concealed carry. Im just gonna wait for cool **** to float by my apartment, none of the people over here brought anything inside so I will probably get a freaking lawn chair through my sliding door.

I moved everything in my backyard to inside my garage. My neighbors however, still have grills, lawn chairs, patio sets & plastic play places outside. I just know one of these things is going to crash into my truck or fence. GRRRR!!!!

WiMiMc 08-27-2011 10:35 AM

i live right near the river so i'm curious to whats going to happen. usually bound brook floods, SBB a little bit, and canal road over near schoolhouse. but now that bound brook has that flood gate, if its functional right now it could just be worse in those areas, or even new areas, the river will def get higher than usual with that gate.

BonzoHansen 08-27-2011 12:31 PM

I think I have enough beer.

Anti_Rice_Guy 08-27-2011 02:06 PM

Took the boat and jet skis out last night. Left work around 1230, and booked it down the prakway, cops didn't care what was happening southbound at that hour. It was like green flag racing at the Daytona 500.

Tons of boats on the water, the boat ramps were as busy as the Parkway north!

BonzoHansen 08-27-2011 03:20 PM

That just means if you stay, you won't receive help.
