This seems to come up every year. Here is the the Cliffs on the 3 shows in Calender order
Carlisle - 4/26-29 - good mix of marques, lots chevy & ford, but you can find other things. Great to order ahead and pick up from vendors to save on shipping. Can be done in a day just dont stop and analysis every nut and bolt Etown - May 4-6 - good mix of vacuums, knick knacks and junk that nobody wants. Great to place to get run over by some lazy ass on a motor cycle while looking at some guy smoking dope. In short dont waste your time unless you've have nothing else to do and have already cut the grass, cleaned the sink and dropped a duce. Wait till sunday and you can pick stuff up out of the garbage that didnt sell on the other days. Macungie , Pa (1st Sat in August) - Really cool old cars (pre war) and toy show. Nice, clean overall event. Go mainly to see stuff you wouldn't normally see ad maybe pick up a some random items Hershey - Early October - Grandaddy of shows. no new stuff say later than 1980. 60-80 stuff is scarce too but is scattered about. Just a different crowd and time frame of cars. Need a radiator cap or a 1920 Graham, belt driven air compressor for a 1917 Marmon, Supercharger for a Dusey, Skis for a model A,...you will probably find a few. Cannot do in a day. I spend 9-10 hrs walking and still dont cover everything. A truly religious experience. |

I did get an old school iron vise there for 5 bucks last year. Carrying it from the far side of the track to the parking lot though made me question whether it was worth it or not. |
Etown Swap Meet
Thinkin about going down this year. Heard alot of guys said it sucked last year. I think it rained last year too. Anybody going or setting up a stand??
I'll be there. Gonna be hooking up with Ted at some point and hangin out
At this point I'm doubting I'll even head down there. The daily driver is still laid up, waiting for parts.... We all know that feeling. I was hoping to have it up and running by now, but then I found a few other things wrong. Had to order up more parts. Waiting for those ones. If the meet was equal to Carisle on the other hand....
Looks like I will be bringing the camaro on sunday as well as shopping for parts on friday :)
It's no longer a swap meet. I would call it a flea market. If you want to buy Harley beer then it's a good place to go.
I'll be there Saturday, in search for some parts for our T/A project.
i will be there sat
I'll be there for a bit on Saturday... I need to pick up some wax and look at all the knick knacks.
TAkid455, good analysis. |
anyone going friday?
How was it? i heard there were a lot of bike parts
there was some good stuff but as far as F-body stuff it was the usually guys that had them. there was some quads and bikes for sale, a couple enduros. there was a 1st gen for sale that would have been a good start for a project, it was a 396 4-speed car for 10k. other than that there was a lot of crap and I didn't buy anything
IDK, there was alot of flea market crap there but i did see some good deals there too.did anyone see the 66 plymouth sport fury with a 440 for $5000.00?
oh yea, i forgot.i did see a guy yank out his tooth with a pair of pliers on friday night.his buddy told me he was going to put it on u-tube. |
