It wasn't intended for laughs, was hoping to find some diesel emthusiests on the board and show others who don't know much about diesel trucks what they are capable of, but apparently that wasn't the case. I got some laughs out of it myself though

Yeah no doubt the versatility of the platform and the gobs of power per dollar are unreal. Some people seem to think the 1320 is the only place you go fast and tin cans are fun to drive.

Same here, too.

Yes, a 2500HD ain't a Corvette, and won't turn like one for sure. But that certainly doesn't mean they can't be fast, and these days a lot of trucks run down "fast" cars all the time. 397hp and 765 lb-ft of torque would make an AVIS truck get up and go.

Modern diesel trucks and cars are impressive (to me at least) and respond very well to mods.

What, the only fast trucks are Lightnings, SRT-10s, and 454 SS's? Yeah...

Pretty much dis. While yea a Z28 is a fine race car platform, can it be a reliable daily driver in all weather conditions? Don't think so.

Diesel with a EFIlive setup gets you fuel mileage, trailer pwning turbo brake, and embarrassing tin cars off the line power. All with a quick turn of a knob.

And yes, I am biased.

No silly 60e/80e to overheat, and turbobrake pwnz a car trailer without brakes.

Cool that something like Joe's truck can run mid 12's at 7,000+ lbs but for the price of his transmission + exhaust you can build a car that would blow it's doors off... needless to mention the initial purchase of the vehicle.

I guess by mid July we'll see if I'm right. Just totaled the budget on the S10 from start to finish (buying the truck, tires, drivetrain, etc) and it's right around $4,800.

Big trucks are still made for towing. You can make anything fast with money.

my duramax cost me 3 times what your S10 cost you. it's probably faster, can tow more (or at all), gets better gas mileage, and will last 3 times as long. oh and my truck is worth $17k with 87k miles on it.

4x4 boosted launch off a curb, do that with your nawwzz Z28.
