how much?
pm me |
I will Paul. So I just checked the RpO codes in console. It is from a different car, the VIN don't match title. Is there any way to get RPO codes other than there? Just curious which options it has, gear ratio, etc.
Just want to clear this up even though no one cares. The vehicle VIN and title do match. The vin that is on the rpo sticker in console is wrong because someone changed the console. |

For some reason, when I go to my sent folder, it always says 0 sent and I could never retrieve them. Ask Big Pal. He'll have it.

Where is everybody going for third gen info like the Shobox site for LT1's. I need vacuum and wiring diagrams. Trying to find where some stuff goes.
|
Junkyard should have plenty left there to die, try popping a hood and bringing a camera.
|
All the junkyards up here don't allow people to walk around anymore last couple years.
|
What year is it? And what motor? Yes, I'm being a lazy ass and not going back through the thread to read it. May be able to help you find some things. How hacked is the engine bay? If it is a TPI car, having done one, I can probably come by and give you a hand one Saturday.

Thirdgen.org has a ton of info., even though you gotta filter the crap and deal with how slow the site is... |
If you can't find the needed vacuum diagram here, don't know where you would find it. LOL.
Start around post 25 he lists them all. One you need should be in there somewhere. http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/te...iagrams-i.html Electrical I should be able to find depending on motor and year. |
It's an 86 tpi. Nothing is really hacked. Just some stuff was disconnected when he pulled the valve covers. Thanks for the help guys.

Question:
I was spending alittle time trying to start this clunker tonight. Cranks fine. Has 30 psi at fuel rail schrader valve. New air filters with no obstructions in air intake. No start. Pulled a couple plugs and checked for spark. Has spark but looks to be pretty weak. Tips of plugs were alittle rusty from sitting with no plug wires so I cleane dtips a little and threw a dab of dielectric grease. Anybody have any ideas of what else to check for??? Looks like my neighbor put on new cap and rotor so I think thats good. Thanks guys. Sidenote. I was holding the spark plug checking for spark while cranking and I guess I touched the plug. Got shocked like crazy but noticed that the spark from hardlly dim blue to crazy bright normal spark. Could this mean that there could be a bad ground somewhere? Just a thought. |
Hear me out on this one.
What shape is the battery in? |

It was dead as a doornail when I got it. I charged it a couple hours here and there. I get about 5 seconds of crank before it dies, then I charge it more and try again. |
I've had situations where an engine with fuel, air, and "spark" will crank but not catch due to not enough voltage to fire over. Might be worth a look.
|
Also check the firing order - Lord knows what the P/O may have done or moved while they were "working" on it. :)
|
Fuel pressure is a little low.
|
I did 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. Starting on the left of the front coil screw and going clockwise. I'm going to fully charge battery and see what happens.
