I read some of the stories on it. The brother said he ran to the room to try and rescue him after he heard the crashing of debris. He swore he heard him calling for help. The authorities moved in and staked a 100 foot safety net around the home and wouldn't move closer until it was deemed safe. I believe the hole grew some during this time. They didn't make extensive efforts to search and rescue, presumed he died, and entombed the body in rock fill. I believe it was a poor area. Several more sinkholes had developed in the area in a short time period. They also demolished the house before they filled it in.

there should be a sink hole 2 places in my town one town hall and the other the town garage when all the employes are all in both buildings

Five of the cars are out of the hole...
(In order of being removed)

This just leaves the 2009 1.5 millionth corvette, the 2001 Mallet Hammer ZO6 Corvette, and the 1993 ZR-1 Spyder

All the cars are going to GM facilities for complete restorations.

It would be kinda neat if they left them on display as is, I mean it is corvette history. Even if it was for just a specific time period. I can't imagine the amount of guys who would flock there to see them!

They started the blue one and drove it away

then quickly shut it off after they saw the oil that had been pouring out.

Paul, that'd awesome that they won't be destroyed/crushed. Put a smile on my face to read they will have the chance to live on.

Adam, that's actually a really interesting proposal. Would be neat, for sure.

Yes, they are! The ones pulled out are already on display (they did not even wash them, rolled them right from the skydome to the exhibit hall!). I do not think they are sending them to GM until late this year.

Good, that should be real neat to see in person.

The removal process was really cool, those guys must have loved life with so many anxious vette fanbois looking over their shoulders.

Otherwise, yawn so vettes got trashed.
