WOW, that cleaned up great! WTF, was there like 20 years of dirt and mold on it before?
it cleaned up nicely but it still needs paint looks real good wet in pictures
it looks like a great find, not exactly my taste in wheels, and I think those tires could probably be burned off, but I hope your son enjoys it, great car over all cant wait to see the finished product
Call us up if you ever want to get some 17" wheels on that car!

Haven't updated the thread in a while but made a lot of progress today.
I went to change the injectors and had to take apart the intake. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...psagb9ifae.jpg I also had to replace the distributor because it got corroded due to moisture and replaced fuel regulator. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...pseyjzgook.jpg Injectors installed. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...psfqfq4uu5.jpg Picture with valve cover off it is so clean. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...pstgqtekxh.jpg One day away from starting it up just waiting on parts. |
Pics of when we changed the fuel tank in November.

Wish I would of known you were doing the injectors. I have a set of good originals laying around. Otherwise looks like its coming along nicely

Sounds almost like its way out of time. Have you unplugged the EST connector and checked base timing? Should be 6-7* BTDC IIRC
We changed the distributor and tried to time it as well as we could. What is the EST connector?

my car has the EST connetor under the passenger side dash but i have a painless harness, google provided me this picture http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...3/DRCF0007.jpg http://www.wwdsltd.com/files/ESTConnector.jpg it is a single pin connector, i believe its a tan/brown wire |
thanks I will look for that connector
Yup that's the one. Disconnect it. Start the car and adjust timing. Tighten and double check your base timing. Then reconnect it with the car off. Its normal for the check engine light to trip when its unplugged. The code will clear on its own
thanks will be working on it tomorrow
Good deal. Let us know how it goes
