Is that rust/rot on the driver side of the rad support?
|
Sure looks like it.

It is , looks like someone drilled in there and didn't bother to protect, there's also allot of rust underneath, it's been sitting in the dirt for 2 years so... some stuff might have to be replaced, panhard bar, and lower control arms seam to be the worst, mabe break lines, nothing too bad just surface rust some P.O.R.and patience it will look brand new, but still have to lift it to inspect everything. |

damn, how much money you going to put into a car that isn't worth much?

when money invested exceeds value... time to chop, and value is maybe 1800 or so.
|
Yeah. Lt1 car parts are worth $$$. Car themselves not so much. But he said he wanted to drive it... So lol :P
|
Interior, and body are in great shape, floors are good and seats are like new, carpet is very clean, I do all the work myself mechanical body work and paint I can even build the panhard bar and track bars I did it before I just need time and a bunch of cheap used parts...lol
For me it's the challenge that counts not is it worth it or not |

It's alive....lol running rough, way too rich, maybe a fuel pressure regulator or stuck injector |
The duct tape on the rubber elbow is a nice touch.

Update I found 4 injectors stuck open 3 of them I got them to switch but one doesn't want to cooperate |
never mind, the injectors keep getting stuck open, they work for a whille then they get stuck sooo.... a set of fresh Bosch 24lbs are on the way, coolant temperature sensor is also bad, that should be all engine wise.
|
They physically get stuck?

some progress, new break rotors, pads and break lines, CAI (no more duct tape LOL) and notice no more rot spot on the rad support, patched floor board holes, some body work done, exhaust straightened out, glued headliner back on (not very proud of the outcome but i'll take care of it latter).
Definitely i'm replacing the rear end, too much work to get it right but for now i'll just do some temporary fixes. It runs nice and smooth, fuel trims are -7% at idle but the SES light is on with the darn p1351 code http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...718_141752.jpg http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...711_200941.jpg http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...711_201028.jpg |
Have you spaced the coil off of the head?
|
yes i did, 2 washers but the ICM and coil are aftermarket so that might be the problem judging by my research, just ordered brand new GM ones, we'll see.
|
AC Delco ICM took care of the P1351 now i have a P0100 coming up once in a while, i guess a new MAF sensor is due
|
Clean it, or grab one.
I have a OE MAF with ported ends being unused in my car if you want to buy a used one. |

i rather (i did) get one with a few month warranty. It's almost ready for the road, rear control arms and panhard bar are on the way, need to do some fabrication on the panhard bar mount since its rot out some. I keep a list of expenses, so far i got $1130.00 on it, including car, trailer rental, parts and materials, fluids. I still didn't decide on the paint, i was thinking Satin Black but i'm not sure about it anymore, metallic black would look nice too but i don't want to paint the door jams so maybe just plain Jet Black |
it's paint job day, finally a weekend with low humidity so i got to it, a little buffing to get raid of the lint that's all she needs and it should shine like a diamond
base coat, diamond black metallic http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...822_125455.jpg clear coat http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...0266875433.jpg |
